On the afternoon of March 31, Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with a delegation led by Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, in Chengdu.

Huang Qiang, on behalf of Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee Wang Xiaohui and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, extended a welcome to Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha for his visit to Sichuan again and provided a concise overview of the province's development. He said that China and Nepal are friendly neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, helpful friends supporting each other, and good partners for common development. In September last year, President Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda; and following this, Prime Minister Prachanda visited Sichuan. After Secretary Wang Xiaohui's visit to Nepal last year, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister also made two visits to Sichuan. These moves have promoted rapid development of bilateral exchanges and cooperation. Huang expressed willingness to work hand in hand with the H.E. Deputy Prime Minister, implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and strengthen government exchanges and sister-city cooperation. We welcome the Nepali side to actively participate in the Forum for Cooperation and Development of Sichuan International Friendship Cities and the World Games 2025 Chengdu. We are ready to boost the enthusiasm of businesses, vigorously expand cooperation space in sectors like clean energy, agriculture, and infrastructure development, and enhance the import of high-quality products from Nepal. We are willing to fully leverage the abundant cultural and tourism resources of both places, foster deep collaboration in tourism, and promote effective and in-depth people-to-people exchanges, further elevating cooperation levels in various fields.

Narayan Kaji Shrestha said Nepal attaches great importance to the friendly relations between Nepal and China. Sichuan is an important node on the Silk Road, and Nepal will firmly participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and strengthen government exchanges and collaboration with Sichuan. Nepal sincerely invites Sichuan enterprises to attend the Nepal Investment Summit and encourages more of them to enhance their cooperation in hydropower development within Nepal and to assist in advancing agricultural technology. Nepal welcomes the people of Sichuan to visit Nepal, so as to continuously deepen the people-to-people friendship, more effectively advance the mutually beneficial development, and better improve the people's living standards for both places.

Nepali Ambassador to China Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, alongside other pertinent Nepali officials, Pubu Dunzhu, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, as well as leading officials from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Sichuan's relevant provincial departments, were present.
