The 11th China Internet Audio and Video Convention, with the theme "Extreme Audio-Video, Strong Empowerment," kicked off in Chengdu on the morning of March 28. Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, attended the opening ceremony. Hu Heping, Deputy Head in charge of routine work of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Cao Shumin, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and Head of the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA), and Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Hu Heping, on behalf of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, extended congratulations for the convention's opening in his speech. He said that since the 18th CPC National Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping has put forward a series of new thoughts, viewpoints, and assessments on cultural advancement in the new era. They enriched and developed the Marxist cultural theories, constituted the cultural dimension of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, formed Xi Jinping Thought on Culture, and provided fundamental guidance for building a strong socialist culture and adding new luster to Chinese culture. On the new journey of the new era, we must thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Culture, accurately grasp the trends and laws governing internet audio &video development, and plan and promote the high-quality development of this sector with the spirit of reform and innovation. We should expand the mainstream thoughts and ideas, make full use of the carriers, language and imagery that are effective in online communication, and promote the Party's innovative theories widely accessible to the general public. Efforts should be concentrated on creating high-quality content and producing exceptional works that reflect the Chinese spirit, capture the prevailing features of the times, and are beloved by the people, so as to promote internet audio &video literature and art from a state of existence "plateau" to one of achieving "peak" excellence. It is essential to enhance sci-tech innovation, proactively identify and respond to changes, and bolster research and application efforts, to supply technological impetus for cultural prosperity. Efforts should be made to enhance our communications' effectiveness, tell China's stories more vividly and compellingly, and better promote the global communication of Chinese culture. Efforts must be undertaken to bolster the standardization and governance within the internet audio &video sector, securing a clean cyberspace in this regard.
Cao Shumin said in her speech that the internet audio &video industry has thoroughly studied and implemented Xi Jinping Thoughts on Culture and General Secretary Xi's important thoughts on boosting China's strength in cyberspace. Cao noted that the industry has witnessed rapid growth while upholding fundamental principles and breaking new ground, played an important role in cementing and expanding the bases of public communication and culture, enriching the intellectual and cultural lives of the people, and has been instrumental in bolstering China's strength in cyberspace and fostering economic and social development. Over the past year, the internet audio &video industry sustained its robust development momentum, achieving new achievements and demonstrating greater endeavors. In the next step, we will consistently prioritize the communication of the Party's innovative theories, cement and expand the mainstream thoughts and ideas, and ensure the internet resonates with the strongest voice of the mainstream values. We will work to foster a deep integration and coordinated development between radio &television and internet audio &video services, continuously enhance their appeal, reach and influence, and thereby create a sound environment for the overall work of the Party and the government. We are dedicated to enriching and optimizing content supply, utilizing high-quality products to steer industrial growth and serve the people, and better satisfying the intellectual and cultural requirements of various groups and diverse scenes. We will strengthen the role of science and technology in empowering our initiatives, fully leverage the transformative potential of ultra-HD technology, attach great importance to the new opportunities afforded by generative artificial intelligence, continually expand the service models and the industrial ecosystem of internet audio &video services, and propel the sector's innovative development. We will refine the comprehensive management system, ensure that high-quality development and greater security reinforce each other, strengthen the whole-chain management throughout the internet audio &video industry, and collaboratively foster a good ecosystem for this sector.
On behalf of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, Huang Qiang welcomed and thanked the guests present in his speech. Huang noted Sichuan will vigorously advance the flourishing of cultural cause and the cultural industry to shoulder better the mission of times to build a culturally robust province. With a focus on "Three Kingdoms, Three Sus, and Sanxingdui, Shu ICH, Shu Road, and Giant Pandas," we will drive the profound integration of digital technology with culture and arts, produce more exceptional works, and create super audio-video IP. We will expedite the breakthrough of key common technologies in ultra-HD video, vigorously promote the application of "ultra-HD + AI," and accelerate our efforts to build a highland in the large audio-video industry. We will vigorously foster the integration of "audio &video + tourism," develop new scenarios, and efficiently meet the varied needs of travelers, aiming to convert online traffic into increased offline tourist visits and longer stays. We will effectively tell the story of Sichuan, highlight the story of its people in overcoming obstacles, advancing progress, and building a better life through diligent efforts, and thus rally a mighty force to strive in unity. We are committed to establishing a first-class business environment, offering enhanced support for the growth of sectors like online film and television production, and welcoming more exceptional enterprises and talents to Sichuan to engage in innovative endeavors, start businesses, and realize their aspirations.
Yang Guorui, Deputy Head of the NRTA, presided over the opening ceremony. Niu Yibing, Deputy Director of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and Vice Minister of the Cyberspace Administration of China, and Wang Fengchao, Mayor of Chengdu Municipal People's Government, delivered speeches respectively. During the opening ceremony, the launch of the "Audio-China Global Broadcasting," a program to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and the "Traveling with Micro-Dramas" initiative, a collaboration between cultural tourism and radio &television sectors, were conducted.
Before the opening ceremony, Wang Xiaohui, Hu Heping, Cao Shumin, Huang Qiang, Nie Chenxi and Shi Xiaolin visited the exhibition on new technologies and premium programs.
Also present at the opening ceremony were relevant leaders of some major central news units, China Netcasting Services Association, and China Writers Association; provincial leaders Chen Wei, Zheng Li and Hu Yun; relevant leading officials from relevant departments of central CPC and state institutions, relevant provincial departments, and radio and television bureaus of different provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities); and representatives from major domestic internet audio &video platforms, e-commerce platforms, investment and financing institutions, universities and research institutions.
