On April 8 at 11:00 AM, vehicles with license plates "Chuan X" or "Yu A" departed from the joint opening ceremony site of Nanbei Avenue in the Sichuan-Chongqing Gaozhu New Area, bound for Chongqing. With this event, the entire Nanbei Avenue was officially opened to traffic, significantly reducing the travel time from the Sichuan-Chongqing Gaozhu New Area to downtown Chongqing to as little as 30 minutes.

Nanbei Avenue, stretching approximately 35 kilometers, has been designed and constructed to the specifications of a first class highway. Originating from Konggang East Road in the Konggang Industrial Park of Yubei District, Chongqing, the road extends northward, connecting to the Sichuan-Chongqing Gaozhu New Area. The first and second phases of Nanbei Avenue are already in use. The third phase officially opened to traffic on the same day, which spans a total of 9.97 kilometers, consisting of 6.82 kilometers in the Linshui section and 3.15 kilometers in the Yubei section.

"Nanbei Avenue is a crucial high-speed route linking the Sichuan-Chongqing Gaozhu New Area with Chongqing's downtown and marks Chongqing's first urban highway that extends beyond its municipal boundaries. Nanbei Avenue is of great significance for facilitating the New Area's effective connection with the radiating influence of the Chongqing metropolitan area and driving the ongoing integration and development between Chongqing and Guang'an," stated the relevant person in charge of Sichuan-Chongqing Gaozhu New Area.

A few-minute drive from the ceremony's departure line will lead to Chongqing, where the boundary marker of the city is visible. Li Yizhong, a resident of Qingtong'an Village in Gaotan Town, Linshui County, informed reporters that he lives near the Sichuan-Chongqing boundary, and since the opening of Nanbei Avenue, he has noticed a reduction in travel time to Chongqing by 20 minutes, and even more to the Gaozhu New Area, enhancing both convenience and safety in travel.

"After the launch of Nanbei Avenue, travel to the Yubei District has accelerated, leading to cost savings in the company's cargo transportation and reduced travel time," introduced Tan Wei, Chairman of Chongqing Hechuang Jianyi Technology Co., Ltd. He further stated that since the company established itself in the Gaozhu New Area in late 2020, the Area's infrastructure has continually improved, and this year, the company successfully bid for a new plot of land to construct additional factories and expand its scale.

The Sichuan-Chongqing Gaozhu New Area prioritizes interconnectivity as a primary engine for regional advancement. Ten basic road projects, such as Phase I of Chongqing Road and the C1 Line, have been completed; the Gaozhu Interchange Project is put to use; the construction of eight internal roads, including Phase II of Chongqing Road and the Beautiful Countryside Tourist Highway, is progressing rapidly; and major projects such as the Chongqing-Guangzhou Railway and the Gaozhu Feeder Expressway have been advancing systematically in their preliminary stages.
