From August 31 to September 1, a delegation from Jilin Province visited Sichuan. On the afternoon of August 31, Peng Qinghua, secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, and Yin Li, deputy secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and governor of Sichuan Province, met with Jing Junhai, deputy secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and governor of Jilin Province in Chengdu. Yin Li and Jing Junhai attended and addressed the Sichuan-Jilin Economic and Social Development Symposium & Signing Ceremony of Cooperation Agreement between Sichuan and Jilin in Chengdu on the afternoon of September 1.

　　During the meeting, Peng Qinghua, Yin Li and Jing Junhai exchanged views on jointly integrating into the country's major development strategy, expanding two-way investment, strengthening the exchange of officials and talents, and further deepening cooperation in key industrial fields such as automobile manufacturing, bio-medicine, ecological agriculture, and cultural tourism.

　　At the symposium, Yin Li introduced the economic and social development of Sichuan and thanked Jilin for its selfless assistance and strong support given to Sichuan in the natural disasters. He said that the Sichuan and Jilin boast deep traditional friendship, and there are not only similarities in the development of agriculture and modern manufacturing, but also complementarities in many industries. In recent years, exchanges and cooperation between the two provinces have become increasingly frequent and close, with broad prospects for deepening cooperation in the future. At present, the two provinces are fully implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on Sichuan and Jilin. We should work together to build platforms and improve mechanisms to deepen cooperation in such fields as modern agriculture, modern manufacturing, and cultural tourism, make opening-up more closely and efficiently coordinated, and achieve win-win development by drawing on each other's strengths. Jilin's economic and social development has achieved remarkable results in recent years. Sichuan will earnestly learn from Jilin's advanced experience and practices and take this agreement-signing as an opportunity to further enhance the level of cooperation and exchange and accelerate the high-quality development of Sichuan's economy and society.

　　On behalf of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Jilin Provincial People’s Government, Jing Junhai thanked Sichuan for its support to Jilin and expressed condolences to the people of Aba prefecture, which suffered from the disaster recently. He said that Sichuan is the intersection of the three national strategies, namely the "Belt and Road Initiative", the China Western Development and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. In recent years, Sichuan has made great achievements in economic and social development. It is hoped that the two provinces will fully implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions, adhere to the principle of government-guided, enterprise-led, comprehensive cooperation and market promotion, strengthen top-level design, promote complementary advantages, deepen the comprehensive revitalization of northeast China and its strategic docking with major national strategies such as the Yangtze River Economic Belt, create a new pattern of industrial cooperation, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, build a model of modern agricultural cooperation, strengthen the development of tourism resources, establish a two-way logistics distribution base, and jointly explore the northeast Asian market.

　　The two provinces signed the "1+11" Cooperation Agreement at the symposium. Wang Ning, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and vice governor of Sichuan Province, and Wu Jingping, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and vice governor of Jilin Province, signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement between the two provincial governments on behalf of respective side. Cooperation agreements were signed between 11 departments (units) of the two provinces.


　　During their stay in Sichuan, the delegation from Jilin Province inspected Chengdu Planning Exhibition Hall, New Economy Vitality Zone and Tongwei Group.


　　Fan Ruiping, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and secretary general of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, Li Yunze, deputy governor of Sichuan Province, Luo Qiang, mayor of Chengdu, Zhu Tianshu, deputy governor of Jilin Province, and other relevant municipal and departmental heads of the two provinces participated in the inspection or symposium.
