| The First Territory Planning of Sichuan Province Is toBe Prepared at the End of This Year |

On March 7th, the reporter learned from thework symposiumof Sichuan provincial natural resources that at the end of this year, the Sichuan Provincial Territory Planning and the five major economic zones will be completed, which will be the first National Territory Planning and the first five major economic zones in Sichuan Province.
In accordance with the requirements of “integration of multi-regulations”, the Sichuan Provincial Land and Space Planning will integrate the existingprovincial-level territory planning, land use planning, urban system planning, and main functional area planning to establish a unified planning system with clear delegated powers and responsibilities, scientific and efficient land space planning. The preparation of the plan has now started.
The relevant person in charge of the Provincial Department ofNatural Resources introduced that in May this year, the territory planning of the Chengdu Plain Economic Zone, the South Sichuan Economic Zone, the Sichuan Northeast Economic Zone, the Panxi Economic Zone, and the Northwest Sichuan Ecological Demonstration Zone will be launched. In accordance with the requirements of strengthening the "main areas" and developing "multiple branches", we will concentrate on planning major regional infrastructure, ecological protection patterns, industrial division of labor, and differentiated development among the five major economic zones and within the five major economic zones, so as to promote the competitive, coordinated and high-quality development among these economic zones.
Going forward, Sichuan will carry out major researchesto ascertain the resource and environmental carrying capacity and suitability evaluation of land and space development on the basis of getting a clear picture of the national land space in cities, counties and regions, and promote the preparation of territory planning to ensure comprehensive coverage by the end of 2020.
The relevant person in charge of the ProvincialDepartment of Natural Resources revealed that in order to strengthen technical support, Sichuanis to establish a National Land and Space Planning Research Institute.
