On July 24, Mr. Yin Li, Vice Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC, Governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, met with former Tanzanian President Kikwete and his delegation in Chengdu.

　　Mr. Yin Li welcomed Mr. Kikwete and his delegation to visit Sichuan and attend the 5th China-Africa People’s Forum. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Kikwete’s efforts to promote exchanges and cooperation between Tanzania and China as well as Sichuan, especially to their support after the Wenchuan earthquake and the Lushan earthquake. Mr. Yin Li said that Sichuan is willing to work with all parties in Tanzania to promote in-depth cooperation in modern agriculture, machinery manufacturing, resource development, cultural tourism, education and health with the backdrop of friendly provinces and the foundation of the healthy and stable development of China-Tanzania relations for mutual benefit and common development.

　　Mr. Kikwete said that the friendship between Tanzania and China is profound and the cooperation between the regions is full of vitality. Sichuan’s experience in modern agriculture and manufacturing development is worth learning. It is expected that Sichuan will strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and achieve fruitful results in areas such as education and tourism with mutual interest to better benefit the people of the two places in the future.
