On March 18th, the 2nd International (Yibin) Tea Industry Annual Conference with the theme of “The First City of the Yangtze River and Dances of Six Kinds of Tea” was opened in Yibin City. Representatives of the tea industry from more than 20 countries and regions around the world and of some domestic tea producing provinces as well as heads of international tea organizations attended the opening ceremony.

　　At the opening ceremony, the International Tea Committee awarded “YibinZao Tea” with the title of “World Famous Green Tea”, “ChuanhongKongfu” with “World Famous Black Tea”, and  “TianfuLongya”, a province-level large-area brand of Sichuan,with “China Good Tea•TianfuLongya”. Sichuan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau conferredthe title of “Provincial Demonstration City of Quality and Safety of Export Tea”to Yibin City, China Tea Circulation Association awarded Sichuan Tea Group with “An Innovation Leading Enterprise of China Tea Industry”, and Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Agency awarded for “Provincial Academician Expert Work Station”.

　　This annual conference was co-hosted by China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce, China Tea Science Society, FAO-IGGTea and the International Tea Council,whose final resultsbecame the “Consensus of the International Tea Industry Annual Meeting”. At the International Tea Trends and Development Forum held during the annual conference, over 10 presidents of tea associations of 10 countries of tea production and marketing as well as leaders and authoritative experts in the industry released the latest data and information of tea in the world and exchanged their views on the development and future trendsof the tea industry, providing important references for the global industry.

　　The International (Yibin) Tea Annual Conference was held in Yibin for the first time last year, which is striving to become an important vane and a platform of communication and trading for the development of the tea industry in China and even around the world with its professionalism and high quality.

　　Mr. Yao Sidan, Vice Governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, attended the opening ceremony and announced its opening. Ms. Zhu Chunxiu, Vice President of Sichuan Provincial People’s Political Consultative Conference, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
