On the afternoon of December 26th, an Oath-Taking Ceremonyin Uniforms of Sichuan Provincial Comprehensive Fire-Fighting Team was held in Chengdu. Mr. Peng Qinghua, Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC,attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. On behalf of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the team who had been fighting for a long time in the frontline and paid homage to the team members. He congratulated them on basically finishing the reform and transformation. Heurged everyone to keep in mind the remarks of General Secretary Xi Jinping who admonished them to be loyal to the party, follow the discipline, serve the people with all efforts, and shoulder the responsibilities entrusted by the party and the peopleat the flag-award ceremony of the national comprehensive fire-fighting team.

　　Jiaozi Hall of Chengdu Jinniu Hotel was immersed in warmth and held more than 220 fire fightersclad in new uniforms withenergy and neatly lines. At 15:30, the oath-taking ceremony was officially launched with all those present singing the national anthem. The honor guards entered the stadium with the flag of Chinese fire-fighting team. Later, all fire-fighters took the oath facing the team flag. Yang Zheng and HouZhengchao, representatives of fire-fightersgave speeches respectively, stating their willingness indevoting themselves infirefighting and rescue work for the new era, and their willingness in obeying orders, fulfilling their duties, delivering hardwork, and be brave enough in face of sacrifice.They wouldturn in excellent performances with practical actions to the party and the people.

　　In his speech, Mr. Peng Qinghua pointed out that the Sichuan fire-fighting teams have carried on a fine tradition and a glorious history. They have long been struggling in places in need of them most. In the face of major disasters and dangerous tasks, they always march in the front line. They have braved dangers in securing people’s lives and their properties. Outstanding contributions have been made in promoting the economic and social development of Sichuan Province.

　　Mr. Peng Qinghua emphasized that the establishment of a comprehensive fire-fighting team is a major strategic decision made by the Party Central Committee to adapt to the national governance system and the modernization of governance capabilities. After the reform and transformation, the comprehensive fire-fighting team, as the main power of the emergency rescue force, bears the responsibility of preventing and resolving major safety risks and dealing with various disasters. He hoped that everyone would maintain political integrity, think in terms of the big picture, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership; and that everyone would have full confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, as well as uphold the authority of the Central Committee and faithfully follow the Party’s theories, lines, principles, and policies.In other words, they would always serve as the loyal guardians of the party and the people. He hoped that everyone would adhere to the standards of constructing disciplined forces, exercise full and rigorous governance over the Partyand over the team itself, carry forward the fine tradition and conduct, provide strict management the education, and build a strong team with stringent disciplines.
