The Number of Trains Operated by the China Railway Express (Chengdu) Has Ranked the First in the Country

  In the first 11 months of this year, the number of trains operated by the China Railway Express has reached 5,611, representing a year-on-year increase of 72%. This figure is about to exceed 6,000 this year. Up to now, the China Railway Express has operated more than 12,000 trains in total, of which over 3,000, a number ranking first in the country, is started from Chengdu.

  The reporter learned from the third plenary meeting of the China Railway Express Coordination Committee held in Chengdu from December 11th to 12th.

  The China Railway Express has turned out to be China’s most close link with countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” and its landmark achievements of the “Belt and Road” construction. Up till the present day, the two-way transportation of the China Railway Express has secured a more balanced operation, with a ratio of inbound trains to outbound ones reaching 71%, which marks the basic completion of “3 inbound trains out of every 4”; the scope of operation continues to expand. 56 domestic cities have opened China Railway Express, linking 49 cities in 15 countries across Europe. Chengdu runs the largest number of trains for China Railway Express, reaching out for 23 overseas cities and 14 domestic cities. It has established 7 international railway passages and 5 international railway and sea transportation channels. The source of supplies has included more types such as automobiles, parts, mechanical products, computers, semi-finished products, clothing, footwear, flowers and trees, other than electronic products and household appliances. And nearly 60% of the supply is obtained in the province.

  Institutional documents such as the Management Measures for the Members of the China Railway Express Coordination Committee, the Evaluation Indicators for the Quality Development of China Railway Express, the Administrative Measures for Guaranteeing the Capacity of China Railway Express and its Operation Management Plan have been passed in the meeting. Clear requirements have been raised in the meeting to urge the China Railway Express to establish evaluation indicators for its high-quality development, unify outward bargaining, launch wide-track collected transportation, strengthen safety measures, and establish a comprehensive information system next year.
