Projects of Post-Lushan Earthquake Reconstruction Aided By Macao Have Been Completed

  On Nov. 5th, our reporter has learned from Macao Red Cross that projects of post-Lushan (Sichuan) earthquake reconstruction aided by it have been completed. The projects have been put into use, covering education, medical, transportation and other fields, helping more than 200 thousand local people.

  There are 8 projects located in Mingshan District, Hanyuan County and Tianquan County of Ya'an City, including 2 schools, 1 maternal and child health hospital, 2 health stations, 2 village bridges and 1 disaster preparedness base. They have greatly improved the infrastructure of disaster-stricken areas, enhanced the ability of local governments to resist disaster risks and improved the level of local health services.

  In over four years of the reconstruction, the Macao Red Cross participated and supervised the design and construction of all the projects to master the progress of them in real time and guarantee the quality of the project construction and their successful and in time completion.

  Since Lushan earthquake in April 20, 2013, Macao has paid great attention to it. Macao Red Cross has collected donation of 22.09 million yuan for disaster area, and gave a hand to 8 post-disaster reconstruction projects in coordination of government of disaster area and the Red Cross of all levels.
