The travel guide for the Spring Festival has been released. On January 18th, reporters learned from Chengdu Special Press Conference that Chengdu would hold Spring Festival Culture and Arts Month with the themes of music, drama performance, arts exhibition, beneficiary activities, and theme park covering music, reading, painting drama, film, singing and dancing, gala party, and light festival. Besides, there are 25 sub-activities and over 1,000 activities of all kinds which will be initiated recently and lasted until the Lantern Festival.
According to Mr. Chen Lizhi, Vice Director of Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Culture, Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, the series of activities will last long, cover widely, range from the New Year, the Spring Festival, and the Lantern Festival, launch all kinds of special cultural and arts activities covering music, drama, arts, literature, expo, film, television, intangible cultures and so on. The activities will be launched with low or no tickets.
What's worth mentioning is that Chengdu Traditional Grand Temple Fair, Jinsha Sun Festival, and Poet Laureate Cultural Festival, International Giant Panda Lantern Festival will be launched soon. International Giant Panda Lantern Festival has been held 48 sessions. To gain a better visual effects, International Giant Panda Lantern Festival has been changed from Taizishan Part to Sanshenghua County of Jinjiang District, combined lantern festival with flower exhibition, designed over 100 groups of large and medium lights with first class of light technology covering an area of 400 mu, which is two times as large as the scale of Tazishan Park. New materials and innovation are also applied into the design and processing for the fist time. It is learned that the theme lights, Brilliant Jinguan City, combine the cultural elements of Shu and Han period and the lotus, the municipal flower of Chengdu, which are made of 54 petals over 200 km with the height of 18 meters with the best design and processing. While the light group on water, Monkey King Is Back, is over 200 meters in length and adding dream Chinese style in design to indicate the overwhelming nerve of the Monkey King.
Moreover, districts and counties of Chengdu will launch “Chengdu Cultural Season” “Folk Culture Exhibition in the Spring Festival” and “Volunteer Service in the Spring Festival”.
