Mr. Wei Hong met Mr. Yoon Sang-jick, minister of Trade, Industry & Energy of South Korea
On May 21st, Mr. Wei Hong, vice secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, in Chengdu met Mr. Yoon Sang-jick, minister of Trade, Industry & Energy of South Korea, who was attending 2015 WKF & Chinese and South Korean Entrepreneurs Summit Forum. They singed memorandum of strengthening trade and economic cooperation between Sichuan Provincial People’s Government and Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy of South Korea.
According to the memorandum, Sichuan Provincial People’s Government and Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy of South Korea would strengthen exchanges between increasing enterprises and industries in the future, support enterprises from both sides to invest emerging industries, create excellent commercial environment for investing companies, and cooperate in fields such as quarantine clearance and so on. Both sides will hold “Sichuan Province - South Korea Economic and Trade Exchange Meeting every two years by turn, and other activities such as high=level meetings, investment promotion meeting, technical cooperation forum and so on.
On behalf of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, Mr. Wei Hong extended his sincere welcome to the visit of Minister Yoon Sang-jick. He mentioned that within the framework of sound and stable bilateral relationship of China and South Korea, the friendly exchanges between South Korea and Sichuan would be developed rapidly and the exchanges and cooperation between economy, culture, education, tourism and so on would be more close. We would pay close attention on the Free Trade Agreement to be signed between China and South Korea, which would promote the trade and economic development between South Korea and Sichuan, even the whole Western China area. We hoped that our guests could visit more places in Sichuan this time, learn the latest economic and social development changes of Sichuan, and capture new cooperation opportunities.
Minister Yoon Sang-jick belied that through this visit, entrepreneurs from South Korea would have a better understanding of Sichuan and the trade and economic cooperation between South Korea and Sichuan would be stepped into a new stage. Sichuan was one of the most important provinces of China to implement Western China Development Strategy. As the implementation of “One Road and One Belt” and the entry of force of Free Trade Agreement of China and South Korea, the relationship between Sichuan and South Korea would be more close and investment, trade and exchanges between different enterprises would be more active. He hoped to initiate more cooperation potentials in more fields.
Vice governor Gan Lin held the signing ceremony. Kim Jang-soo, ambassador of South Korea to China, and famous entrepreneurs attending 2015 WKF & Chinese and South Korean Entrepreneurs Summit Forum also attended the signing ceremony.
