The 9th China-ASEAN Folk Friendship Congress will be held in Chengdu from September 18th to 20th. During the congress, China-ASEAN Relationship Forum, China-ASEAN Tourism Forum, China-ASEAN Media Forum, China-ASEAN Labor and Employment Forum will be held.

　　The congress is organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Counties, the China-ASEAN Association, and Chengdu Municipal Government, with the theme of “the relationship between China and the ASEAN: new thinking for the future”. By then, approximately 100 foreign guests, including former politicians, ministers form ASEAN counties, leaders from International organizations and friendship associations, will attend the congress, exchange opinions with representatives from China concerning issues like the future of China-ASEAN relationship, China-ASEAN cooperative method and path innovation and so on, and explore cooperation prospects in tourism, media, labor and employment.

　　The congress will also release Chengdu Declaration, calling for people from China and the ASEAN counties to spare no efforts to establish a closer China-ASEAN community.

　　China-ASEAN Folk Friendship Congress is originally named as China-ASEAN Folk Friendship Orientation Congress, initiated by Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Counties, the China-ASEAN Association, and the ASEAN Folk Friendship Organization in 2006, aiming to enhance mutual folk trust between China and the ASEAN and promote mutual cooperation by establishing folk communication platform. The annual congress has been held in China, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines alternatively. On the 8th  China-ASEAN Folk Friendship Orientation Congress in the Philippines, all friendship organizations agreed to upgrade it into China-ASEAN Folk Friendship Congress so as to upgrade China-ASEAN friendly cooperation.
