By September 1st, Sichuan Changning-Weiyuan National Shale Gas Demonstration Area has produced 106.659 million cubic meters shale gas in total. The daily gas production of Changning H2-4 Well has been over 200,000 cubic meters and the daily gas production of H2-2 Well has been over 150,000 cubic meters.

　　Since the operation of Changning shale gas pilot transmission trunk line, Yuxi Gas Production Area of PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company has accelerated the shale gas production in Changning District. Currently, shale gas transmission trunk pipeline of Weiyuan District will be constructed and planned to complete and operate by the end of 2014.

　　There are abundant shale gas resources in Sichuan Changning-Weiyuan National Level Shale Gas Demonstration Area which is one of the core ares of producing shale gas in China. According to the potential research, evaluation and preferential selection results of national shale gas resources carried out by Ministry of Land and Resources of the People's Republic of China, Sichuan’s overall storage amount of shale gas resources reaches 27.5 trillion cubic meters, accounting for 20.46% in China. The recoverable shale gas of Sichuan has amount to 4.42 trillion cubic meters, accounting for 17.6% in China. Sichuan ranks first in China in both the storage amount and the recoverable amount of shale gas.

　　As more and more new wells are built and transmission channels are finished, Sichuan Changning-Weiyuan National Level Shale Gas Demonstration Area is striding for the aim of achieving 2 billion cubic meters in production in 2015.
