Chengdu-Luzhou Container Train Begun
Updated:2014.08.21

On the afternoon of August 19th, the first container train from Xinjin to Luzhou Port began its maiden journey from Puxing Station, marking that there was another international logistics channel linking the golden section of the Yangtze River and southwest inland.

Chengdu-Luzhou Railway and Waterway Joint Channel was finished in 2011. Since 2014, according to the important issue of developing Yangtze River Belt comprehensive transport raised by National Development and Reform Commission, Chengdu Railway Bureau, Luzhou Harbor Business Company, and Sichuan Railway Group strengthened their joint cooperation to design railway and waterway joint channel based on the railway network of the golden section of the Yangtze River and southwest inland with the intersection of Luzhou Port. In accordance with the design, there would be 1 to 2 trains of Chengdu-Luzhou Railway and Waterway Joint Channel in the beginning phase. After the train arrives at Luzhou Port, goods could be transferred directly onto container liner to Shanghai in 9 days.

Besides the loading point of Xinjin, the train would further extend the range of goods resources, gradually increasing loading points such as Qingbaijiang (Chengxiang), Mount Emei (Yangang) and Leshan, and so on.
