On December 11th, 2nd Chengdu International Urban Modern Agricultural Exhibition and Agricultural Technology Exhibition Trade Fair with the theme of “technology boosting agriculture and brand leading development” opened at Chengdu New Exhibition Center, initiating a special agricultural feast of 4 days. Mr. Li Changping, member of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and director of Sichuan Provincial Agriculture and Labor Committee, and Mr. Qumu Shiha, vice governor, attended the opening ceremony and visited some exhibition halls.

      2nd Chengdu International Urban Modern Agricultural Exhibition attracted not only enterprises from 10 countries such as Australia, Malaysia, Israel and China Taiwan but also exhibition groups from domestic cities such as Changchun Guiyang and 10 cities from Sichuan, for instance, Panzhihua, Dazhou and so on. The total amount of enterprises from home and abroad amounted to over 800. It was estimated that the the number of professional purchasers and partners would be over 20,000, and the number of ordinary audiences would be over 120,000. The exhibition contents included agricultural technology, agricultural materials, agricultural machinery, fresh, alive as well as delicate agricultural products, leisure agriculture, rural tourism, agricultural ancillary services, and so on, covering technology and products for both raw and intensive chain of agriculture, aiming to highlight modern agricultural technology exhibition display, investment promotion for agricultural programs, enhancing regional brands and exhibition and docking for agricultural products.

      During the exhibition period, 7 other special activities would be held, including 2014 Chengdu Agricultural Technology Achievements Special Promotion and Agreement Signing Ceremony and 2014 Chengdu Agricultural Exhibition Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism Development Forum, 1st Agricultural Industrialization Leading Enterprises Development (Chengdu) Summit Forum and Modern Agriculture Achievements Conference, 2014 China Annual Conference for Cold Logistics Chain and China (Chengdu) Agricultural Product Cold Logistics Summit Forum, and 2014 Western China Wise Agriculture Application and Development Summit Forum. Meanwhile, 13 special enterprise promotion would be held to build professional and effective trade exchange platform for exhibition enterprises. As the host city, Chengdu’s 17 districts and counties, as well as Tianfu New District, have organized massive exhibits groups to indicate the beauty of urban agriculture and boost the in-depth development of Chengdu modern agriculture.
