At the foot of the green mountain and among tall bamboos, unique farm houses are linked by accessible roads. On December 3rd, Liaoqing Rock Ecological Cultural Village Program, located at Wuxian Village, Dibao Township, Muchuan County, and invested a total of 7 million yuan, was in busy construction.
Wuxian Village, just a river across Muchuan Bamboo Sea Scenic Spot, belongs to one of the core scenic spots of Muchuan County. After the completion of phase one program, 8 projects including Tea Horse Road and Cultural Courtyard, will make Muchuan rural tourism more attractive.
In recent years, Muchuan County focuses on 4 sections, ecological health, folk culture, special experience and rural refreshment, to create a new southwestern ecological tourism destination. Muchuan County also describes an ecological picture through constructing a large number of competitive cultural tourism boutiques.
Strengthening cultural tourism industry and initiating ecological turn
Muchuan Bamboo Sea, which had enjoyed particularly high reputation, undergoes a series of major changes. At the end of November, when reporters stepped into the scenic spot, they found that workers were busy with broadening roads. Many fashionable and delicate container rooms and limos were dotted in this quiet mountains and waters. Responsible persons from Shanghia Honghang Group in charge of developing the scenic spot said, “Since the beginning of 2014, a total of 150 million yuan has been invested to improve ring roads and walking trails, construct automobile camps, tourist serve center and parking lot, and complete the projects such as Xiaodong Feihong Comprehensive Service Center and Yongxing Business Street. The automobile camp opened on September 20th have received over 200 tourists.” Imperfect infrastructure was once the bottleneck blocking development. While after the ring road improvement project finishes, the scenic spot will enable tourists to enjoy more convenient and better ecological resources.
Since 2014, Muchuan County has accelerated economic restructuring, specified the development methods of “government leading, market as main part, industrial integration and dislocation development”, and promoted a series of measures to strengthen cultural tourism projects. The first step is to make a clear plan. The comprehensive development planning for cultural tourism in Muchuan County, construction planning for scenic spots and cultural tourism product planning have been successively perfected. Specific plannings for Muchuan Bamboo Sea, Muchuan Village and Wumaping International Tourism and Resort Area, China Bamboo Exhibition Garden, Jiejie lake, and so on, have been released.
The curtain of ecological turn of Muchuan has been opened. Since 2014, Muchuan County has arranged 1 million yuan for cultural tourism development special fund, given priority to offer land for mature cultural tourism programs, promoted investment attraction for hotel and rural tourism programs, and strengthen support in taxation and talents. “We strive for by 2020 investing 10 billion yuan on cultural tourism, achieving comprehensive income of 2 billion yuan, receiving 1.5 million tourists and offering 3,000 jobs.” Responsible officials of Muchuan Tourism Bureau introduced.
Highlighting ecological elements and integrating into “Big Emei” tourism circle
With the completion and opening of Leshan-Yibin Expressway and the promotion of Chengdu-Guiyang Railway and other transportation programs, Muchuan attracts not only Honghang Group when its transportation becomes more convenient. In 2013, Mr. Li Chogqing, an investor, optimistic about Muchuan’s ecological resources and rural tourism future, registered at Muchuan County Tea Horse Tourism Development Co. Ltd. aiming to construct a peach village integrated all elements of food, housing, transportation, tourism, shopping and entertainment with a total of 35 million yuan.
The Peach Village is a critical node at Muchuan’s ecological map. It is full of agricultural flavor and unique. This village constructed at new Taoyuan Hill Village has completed the main building, bridges and gate door. It is planned to finish by the end of 2014.
Muchuan & Shanghai Zhoulu International Trade City, with the total investment of 1.18 billion yuan and covering 207 mu, was initiated on November 8th. Happiness Coast Hotel, invested 300 million yuan, has been signed contract to build in accordance with the standard of 4 star hotel. Wumaping comprehensive development project and Caihong Art Valley have been accelerated. All these programs have one thing in common, i.e., surrounding Muchuan’s ecological endowments and highlighting ecological elements.
Integrating actively into “Big Emei”tourism circle and focusing on ecological tourism, Muchuan enjoys prosperous tourism momentum. According to statistics, from January to October, Muchuan has received 850,000 visitors, a year-on-year growth of 18.8%, with tourism comprehensive income of 507million yuan in total, increasing 25.9%. At the end of September, 80 traveling salesmen and investors attending 1st Sichuan International Tourism Expo from home and abroad inspected Muchuan particularly. Mr. Chen Lei, chairman of Austria Europe-China Cultural Exchange Association, praised, “Muchuan has great potential of ecological tourism”. He also said to enlarge exchanges and cooperation with Muchuan.
