On the morning of November 18th, Mr. Wei Hong, vice secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, in Chengdu met Mr. Matan Vilnai, ambassador of the State of Israel to the People's Republic of China.

　　Mr. Wei Hong congratulated the inauguration of Consulate General of Israel in Chengdu. He mentioned that the establishment of a consulate general indicated that the friendly exchanges and cooperation had achieved certain results, and predicted that mutual exchanges and cooperation would step into a new stage. He hoped we could work together to construct more and better platforms to promote in-depth cooperation between Sichuan and Israel in all fields, especially in technology innovation.

　　Mr. Matan Vilnai said they were optimistic about the promising future of Western China and hoped that the establishment of Consulate General of Israel in Chengdu would not only enhance exchanges between governments but also promote folk exchanges in education, tourism and so on. He suggested that both parties should sign cooperation agreements in technology innovation in order to strive for complementary and win-win development.
