On the evening of October 23rd, the reception of 15th Western China International Fair was held in Chengdu. Guests attending the reception all wished that Western China International Fair could be more wonderful and fascinating.
Guests attending the reception included Mr. Matthias Fekl, head of French delegation, Secretary of French Diplomat and International Development Department Trade, Tourism and Overseas French Personnel Affairs, Mr. Xu Haoliang, UN Assistant Secretary-General and UNDP Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, and Mr. Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former Prime Minister of France, chairman of Military, National Defense and Diploma Committee of the Senate.
Commissioned by Mr. Wang Dongming, secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC, director of Sichuan Provincial People’s Congress and director of Organizing Committee for 15th Western China International Fair, Mr. Wei Hong, vice secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, and director of Organizing Committee for 15th Western China International Fair, extended warmest welcome towards the guests in his speech. He mentioned that Western China International Fair had hosted for 14 sessions, illustrated firmly the ideals of sharing resources, complementary advantages, mutual benefit and win-win development, accelerated the process of western China area going globalization and offered opportunities for global enterprises to benefit from western China development. 15th Western China International Fair with the theme of “Reform leading development, innovation opening future” insists innovative and restructuring development and highlights industries, enterprises and markets. As the host province, Sichuan would spare no efforts in providing excellent services and building platform for exchange and cooperation to ensure the full success of 15th Western China International Fair. Sichuan, as a crucial link of Silk Road Economic Belt and Yangtze River Economic Belt, devoted to creating growth pole for China emerging economy. Sichuan was willing to deepen multilateral cooperation with domestic provinces and nations so as to promote mutual development.
Mrs Gao Yan, vice Minister of Commerce, on behalf of the sponsor ministry, delivered a speech. She mentioned that currently the role of western China area as an important growth pole in opening and economic development was prominent, which in turn created a broader development promise for Western China International Fair. She believed that with the firm support and joint efforts of sponsor organizations, Western China International Fair would make more contributions in enlarging opening in western China area, deepening regional exchanges and cooperation and accelerating industrial transferring and upgrading.
In his speech, Mr. Matthias Fekl expressed the pleasure of being host of honor of 15th Western China International Fair on the occasion of celebrating 50th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relation. Although there was large gap in national areas of France and China, resources and advantages were distinctive and there was great potential for further cooperation. Western China International Fair provided a perfect platform for promoting mutual political dialogue, investment, business, and culture.
Mr. Zhong Mian, vice governor of Sichuan Province, presided over the reception. Other provincial officials, including Li Dengju, Liu Yushun, Li Yazhou, Wang Ning, Liu Jie, Gan Lin and Shi Jun, etc., also attended the reception.
