On August 21, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, and Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa in Chengdu.

On behalf of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, Wang Xiaohui and Shi Xiaolin extended their welcome to President Daniel Noboa and his entourage on their visit to Sichuan, and provided a brief introduction on Sichuan's economic and social development. Wang Xiaohui said that on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Ecuador, President Xi Jinping met with President Daniel Noboa during the latter's state visit to China to further chart the course for deepening China-Ecuador relations and jointly draw a new blueprint for the development of bilateral relations. That Sichuan serves as an important stop on this visit to China demonstrates President Daniel Noboa's emphasis on and support for further strengthening exchanges and cooperation between Ecuador and Sichuan. This year marks the beginning of China's 15th Five-Year Plan, and Sichuan's development has also reached a new historical starting point. The province will earnestly implement the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, focus on the development needs and complementary advantages of both sides, make good use of favorable conditions including the implementation of the China-Ecuador Free Trade Agreement, continuously expand mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, investment, clean energy, infrastructure, and modern agriculture, constantly deepen sister-city exchanges and people-to-people and cultural interactions, actively share new opportunities stemming from Sichuan's modernization drive, strive to achieve more practical results, and contribute more to elevating the China-Ecuador comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights.

Daniel Noboa expressed admiration for the achievements Sichuan has made in economic and social development. He said that China is an important partner and friend of Ecuador, and Ecuador attaches great importance to its relations with China. Sichuan is an important province in western China, with strong development momentum and vibrant opening-up dynamics. Sichuan has strong complementarity with Ecuador and great potential for cooperation. He expressed willingness to actively promote exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in various fields, and welcomed more Sichuan enterprises to invest and do business in Ecuador, so as to continuously enhance mutual understanding, consolidate traditional friendship, and achieve common development.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador Roberto Kury, Ambassador of Ecuador to China María Soledad Córdova Montero, Chinese Ambassador to Ecuador Sun Xiangyang, Sichuan provincial leaders Tian Qingying and Ren Jingdong, and leading officials from relevant provincial departments attended the meeting.
