On July 14, the third-quarter concentrated interview activity themed "A Panoramic View of Sichuan" kicked off at Shiyi Village, Qushan Town, Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County, Mianyang City. Over the following week, journalists from mainstream media at all levels, as well as self-media creators from commercial platforms and the agricultural sector, will split into three groups to visit eight cities and prefectures. At the launch ceremony, the Party secretaries (Party branch secretaries) from Sanhe Village and Huopu Village in Zhaojue County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture; Zhanqi Village in Pidu District, Chengdu; Yongfeng Village in Dongpo District, Meishan City; and Shiyi Village in Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County, Mianyang City, delivered speeches successively, sharing stories of keeping in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping's care and instructions and leading local residents toward moderate prosperity and affluence.

On the eve of the 2023 Spring Festival, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited and extended greetings to the cadres and residents of Shiyi Village via video link, encouraging them to "develop specialty agricultural products and rural tourism well." "Now, the 4.6-kilometer main road in the entire village has been widened, a hiking and mountain-climbing loop has been built, natural gas has been brought up into the mountains, 5G access has reached households, and sewage and household waste are fully collected and treated across the village," said Chen Aijun, Secretary of the Party Branch of Shiyi Village. He added that the local 2,000 mu of Taizi tea, loquats, and Tongzi plums generate an annual output value of 17 million yuan, the 23 boutique homestays attract guests all year round, and in 2025, the village received 560,000 tourists, bringing comprehensive tourism revenue of 70.59 million yuan, with villagers' average annual per capita income reaching 100,000 yuan.

Shen Wenqiang, Secretary of the Party Branch of Huopu Village, shared encouraging news: in May this year, Huopu Village was designated a demonstration village under the Villages Recognition Initiative launched by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Relying on a 1,000-mu highland blueberry base, an 800-mu traditional Chinese medicinal herb planting base, and distributed photovoltaic power stations, the per capita net income of former impoverished residents in the village reached 21,821 yuan in 2025, and the total revenue of the village collective economy exceeded 1 million yuan.

Zhanqi Village adheres to Party building as the guide and implements a civility points-rewards system. It joins hands with neighboring villages to build the Zhanqi Ten-Thousand-Mu Grain and Cash Crop Modern Agricultural Park, steadily turning the instruction to "take the lead and serve as a model" into reality.

Sichuan is a major agricultural province, one of the 13 major grain-producing provinces and regions in China and the country's only strategic guarantee base for high-quality commercial pigs. In recent years, the province has vigorously advanced the development of a higher-level "Tianfu Granary" for the new era. Its total grain output hit 73.25 billion jin in 2025, registering an average annual increase of over 500 million jin for three consecutive years. A total of 9,436 beautiful and harmonious villages that are desirable to live and work in have been built, and the rural sanitary toilet penetration rate has reached 95 percent. The growth rate of per capita disposable income of rural residents in formerly impoverished areas has outpaced both the national and provincial averages for five straight years, and the urban-rural gap continues to narrow. Behind these figures lies the solid progress Sichuan has made in accelerating the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
