On June 11, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met in Chengdu with a delegation led by Javier Tebas Medrano, President of the Spanish Professional Football League (LALIGA).

Shi Xiaolin welcomed Javier Tebas Medrano for his visit to Sichuan again. She noted that a Sichuan delegation paid a visit to Spain and toured the headquarters of LALIGA in April this year, conducting in-depth exchanges on football culture and industrial development. Currently, Sichuan is making every effort to promote a good start and steady progress for the 15th Five-Year Plan. The province regards advancing the high-quality development of sports undertakings and industry as a major task, so as to better meet the people's aspirations for a better life and promote well-rounded personal development. Sichuan boasts a profound football culture, thriving professional football, a continuously booming football market and a solid mass foundation. LALIGA has professional and mature experience in event organization and management, commercial development and operation, talent training for the industry and football culture promotion. Shi Xiaolin expressed the hope that the two sides will foster regular, long-term coordination and cooperation, actively promote friendly match exchanges, organize more high-quality events, deepen joint efforts to establish a youth training system, jointly cultivate international talents for the sports industry, and advance in-depth cooperation among clubs. These efforts will further enhance the professional capabilities and management level of football in Sichuan, improve the football development ecosystem in a systematic manner, and deliver practical cooperation achievements in sports to take friendly relations between Sichuan and Spain to new heights.

Javier Tebas Medrano stated that Sichuan boasts a favorable football atmosphere and solid foundations, with a strong momentum of development. LALIGA is willing to leverage its strengths, and share experience and strengthen cooperation with Sichuan to jointly establish a youth training system, build an industry training and education platform and a bridge for club interactions, cultivate more high-level young players, high-caliber coaches and outstanding sports management talents, promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation among clubs, and comprehensively support the development of football and sports undertakings as well as football and sports industries in Sichuan.

Relevant officials from provincial departments and Chengdu municipal authorities attended the meeting.
