During the May Day holiday, Sichuan's cultural and tourism market maintained a robust upward momentum. Major core scenic spots played a leading role, with immersive and interactive experience activities becoming mainstream. Cultural and museum study tours, folk custom experiences, rural leisure activities and the nighttime economy have achieved in-depth integration, fostering coordinated development across the region. All localities launched distinctive themed activities tailored to holiday demands, precisely catering to diverse tourist groups. A host of benefit-for-the-public measures, including ticket discounts and consumption subsidies, were extensively implemented, effectively unleashing the market's consumption potential.
During the holiday season, diverse and trendy experiences have been highly favored by tourists. In Jiezi Ancient Town of Chongzhou, Chengdu, the Blue Airstream Skydiving Base has become a popular hotspot, attracting crowds for trendy check-ins. Many enthusiasts from Beijing, Heilongjiang, Chongqing and other places have flocked here to immerse themselves in the unique charm of high-altitude skydiving. Throughout the May Day holiday, the base received an average of 150 visitors daily. The emerging low-altitude sports have become popular among young people, injecting fresh vitality into holiday entertainment consumption and the low-altitude economy.
On May 1, Chengdu Panda Ocean Park officially opened to the public, creatively blending ancient Shu culture with oceanic charm. The distinctive mermaid performance ingeniously incorporated the elements of Sanxingdui bronze masks, presenting a beautiful underwater scene where ancient elegance blends with dreamlike fantasy.
