On April 22, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with a delegation led by Christian Kullmann, Chairman of the Executive Board of Germany's Evonik Industries AG, in Chengdu.

Shi Xiaolin provided a brief introduction to Sichuan's development. She said that Sichuan is an important hub for chemical R&D and production in China, with energy and chemicals being one of the province's key industries. Evonik Industries is a world-leading specialty chemicals company, and the two sides have broad prospects for future cooperation. In today's rapidly changing world, despite numerous challenges, win-win cooperation remains the shared aspiration of the people and the prevailing trend of the times. We hope to jointly grasp the new trends in globalization, share the new opportunities arising from Sichuan's 15th Five-Year Plan, advance existing cooperation projects with high quality and efficiency, continuously expand scientific and technological innovation and practical industrial cooperation in fields such as green chemicals, advanced materials, and new energy, drive the clustered development of upstream and downstream enterprises, as well as supporting businesses in niche sectors, continuously optimize and strengthen the industrial chain to open up new market space, stick to the bottom lines of safety and environmental protection, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results based on rules and trust. We will consistently foster a market-oriented, law-based and world-class business environment, creating better conditions for Evonik Industries and other foreign-invested enterprises to develop in Sichuan.

Christian Kullmann said that Sichuan's resource endowments, industrial foundation, and market potential are very attractive to Evonik Industries, and that Evonik's core businesses are highly aligned with Sichuan's industrial development direction. He expressed the hope that, building on the completion and operation of existing cooperation projects, Evonik will further increase investment and R&D collaboration, establish a long-term win-win partnership, and make greater contributions to Sichuan's high-quality development.

Dong Weimin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, Hu Yuankun, Secretary-General of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and leading officials from relevant provincial departments and Leshan City, among others, attended the meeting.
