On April 17, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, met with Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun in Chengdu.

During the meeting, Wang Xiaohui, on behalf of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, extended a welcome to Djauhari Oratmangun and his delegation for their visit to Sichuan and briefly introduced the province's economic and social development. He said that China and Indonesia are good neighbors facing each other across the sea and good partners with a shared future, and both countries are major developing countries and representatives of emerging economies. In recent years, President Xi Jinping and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto have held multiple meetings, steering the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries toward ever-deeper development and charting the strategic course for building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future. Against this backdrop, Sichuan and Indonesia have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in areas such as government exchanges, sister-city interactions, economic and trade investment, and cultural and educational exchanges. This year marks the beginning of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period, and Sichuan is seizing the momentum to advance its modernization drive. We will earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, take the opportunity of Indonesia's establishment of a consulate general in Sichuan to continuously strengthen government-to-government exchanges and sister city relations, further expand industrial investment cooperation, promote the development of closer economic and trade ties, deepen exchanges in areas such as education, science and technology, culture and tourism, and healthcare, and jointly contribute to the high-level development of the China-Indonesia community with a shared future.

Djauhari Oratmangun expressed admiration for Sichuan's achievements in economic and social development. He said that Indonesia and China have a long history of friendly exchanges, which have grown stronger over time. Sichuan is an important partner for Indonesia in its cooperation with China, with huge potential and broad prospects for collaboration. The Indonesian embassy and consulates in China are ready to play their role as a bridge to promote deeper exchanges and cooperation with Sichuan across various fields, in a bid to achieve more tangible results.

Provincial leaders Dong Weimin and Tian Qingying, as well as leading officials from relevant provincial departments, attended the event.
