On March 19, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to China Ro Jae Hun and his delegation in Chengdu.

On behalf of Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Shi Xiaolin welcomed Ambassador Ro Jae Hun on his first visit to Sichuan since taking office and briefly introduced the province's development. She noted that President Xi Jinping and President Lee Jae Myung have met twice and successfully made mutual visits, guiding China-ROK relations to continue to move forward along a healthy track. The ROK is one of the important countries for Sichuan in conducting foreign exchanges and cooperation. The two sides share a high degree of alignment in industrial development and have broad space for collaboration. It is hoped that, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the two sides will further enhance sub-national government exchanges and people-to-people interactions, tap into cooperation potential in such areas as advanced manufacturing, modern agriculture, scientific and technological innovation, and economic and trade investment, strengthen alignment in emerging industries such as artificial intelligence and biopharmaceuticals, and expand exchanges in cultural tourism, education, and sports, among other fields. Together, we aim to achieve more fruitful results in practical and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides, contributing to the steady and sustained development of the friendly relations between China and the ROK, which are "important neighbors that cannot be moved away and inseparable cooperation partners".

Ro Jae Hun said that during this visit, he was deeply impressed by Sichuan's robust momentum of development. He expressed hope that the two sides will earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, focus on three key words—innovation, people's livelihood, and friendship—to explore new models for win-win cooperation, expand collaboration in areas such as new quality productive forces, people's livelihood, and culture, enhance youth exchanges, and foster deeper mutual understanding between the two peoples, in a bid to bring bilateral friendly relations to a new level.

Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province Ren Jingdong, Secretary-General of the People's Government of Sichuan Province Hu Yuankun, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chengdu Uhm Won Jae, and the heads of relevant provincial departments, among others, attended.
