Sichuan Serves Up Spring Festival "Cultural Tourism Feast": Offering Nearly 3,000 Activities and Issuing Over 30 Million Yuan in Consumer Vouchers
Updated: 2026.02.09

This Spring Festival, Sichuan's cultural and tourism sector will launch nearly 3,000 promotional events across various categories and distribute over 30 million yuan in cultural and tourism consumer vouchers through coordinated arrangements. On February 4, at a press briefing held by the Department of Culture and Tourism on the 2026 Spring Festival cultural and tourism activities, it was announced that the province will comprehensively activate holiday cultural and tourism consumption during the Spring Festival, creating a festive, Sichuan-flavored, and heartwarming experience for visitors and residents alike.

The nearly 3,000 cultural and tourism promotion activities cover art exhibitions, musical performances, intangible cultural heritage markets, Spring Festival goods fairs, and rural temple festivals. Under the theme "Return to Your Roots this Spring Festival, Come to Sichuan for the New Year", the province will innovatively launch a province-wide Spring Festival thematic study‑tour initiative and a spring study‑tour season. It will create the exclusive Spring Festival cultural tourism IP "Gallop into Sichuan: Amazing Fun Awaits!" Key offerings include ski‑holiday programs on the western Sichuan plateau, curated folk‑experience and rural‑leisure products in southern Sichuan, optimized sun‑soaked stays and wellness retreats in the Panxi region, and tailored packages featuring hot‑spring wellness, family‑friendly leisure, and folk‑culture study tours in central and northern Sichuan. A variety of interactive activities, such as making glutinous rice cakes, writing Spring Festival couplets, visiting temple fairs, intangible cultural heritage performances, and folk parades, will also be organized across the province.

Following the earlier distribution of 100,000 free attraction tickets to visitors nationwide, Sichuan will issue additional cultural and tourism consumption vouchers totaling over 30 million yuan during the Spring Festival period, applicable across diverse consumption scenarios such as attraction visits, hotel stays, dining and shopping, as well as cultural performances. Meanwhile, through partnerships with leading platforms and financial institutions, multiple tiers of benefits will be offered: Sichuan Bank will invest three million yuan to support cultural and tourism consumption; in collaboration with HopeGoo, a special Spring Festival promotion will be launched for the Sichuan market, where users can claim limited‑time red‑envelope subsidies of up to 2,026 yuan; and together with Meituan, a series of campaigns such as "Collect the Horse in the Year of the Horse", "Book the Reunion Dinner", and "A Beautiful Spring Festival" will be rolled out. In response to the peak travel period, the province will continue to carry out the "Cultural and Tourism Market Order Standardization and Enhancement Year" initiative, encouraging localities across Sichuan to implement visitor‑friendly measures such as free parking.

During the Spring Festival period, each city and prefecture will also delve into local cultural heritage and integrate traditional festive customs to launch a series of cultural and tourism activities that blend regional character with contemporary appeal. At the briefing, officials from the cultural and tourism departments of Mianyang, Neijiang, Suining, and Nanchong presented their respective local thematic events and visitor‑friendly policies in the cultural and tourism sectors.
