Recently, the People's Government of Sichuan Province and the Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Chengdu. Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, and Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with Duan Xiangdong, Chairman of Chinalco, Wang Shilei, General Manager of the corporation, and their delegation. They jointly witnessed the signing of the agreement.

During the meeting, focusing on thoroughly implementing the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the gist of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on Sichuan's work, both sides exchanged views on giving full play to Sichuan's advantages in mineral resources and the leading role of Chinalco in the nonferrous metals industry, jointly advancing practical cooperation in areas such as industrial cluster building and value chain strengthening, collaborative technological innovation, and sector-wide intelligent and digital transformation, accelerating the development of a modern industrial system with distinctive Sichuan characteristics and strengths, better serving the implementation of national major strategies, and providing stronger support for the province's high‑quality economic and social development, among other topics.

At the signing ceremony, Ren Jingdong, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and Dong Jianxiong, Deputy General Manager of Chinalco, signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement between the People's Government of Sichuan Province and Aluminum Corporation of China on behalf of their respective sides. Chen Shuping, Mayor of Chengdu Municipal People's Government, and relevant persons in charge of Chinalco jointly signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement between the People's Government of Chengdu Municipality and Chinalco Qianxing (Chengdu) Technology Co., Ltd. and China Aluminum Science and Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. According to the agreements, the two sides will engage in comprehensive and multi‑level strategic cooperation focusing on areas such as scientific research and innovation in rare and scattered metals, the development and utilization of mineral resources, the intelligent and digital transformation of industrial enterprises, and the cultivation of an industrial ecosystem in the advanced materials sector. This collaboration is designed to support Sichuan in cluster ecosystem-building and chain-strengthening in its key industries and in constructing a modern industrial system, ultimately achieving mutually beneficial and win‑win development.
