On February 12, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met in Chengdu with Zhang Xingming, Party Secretary and Co-founder of Seres Group Co., Ltd., Xiao Song, President of Siemens Greater China and Chairman of Siemens Ltd., China, and Liu Qing, Director of the National Innovation Center par Excellence.

On behalf of the provincial government, Shi Xiaolin extended thanks to the corporate leaders and innovation platform experts for their contributions to the preparation of Guang'an Institute of Technology and to Sichuan's development. She said that Guang'an is the hometown of Comrade Deng Xiaoping and a key pivot for interregional cooperation between Sichuan and Chongqing. With strong support from the Ministry of Education and various sectors of society, Guang'an Institute of Technology is set to become the city's first undergraduate institution. She expressed the hope that all sides will keep in mind the basic task of fostering virtue through education, forge ahead with a sense of responsibility and dedication, and adopt a reform-oriented approach to deepen engagement and collaboration between the institute and enterprises, universities, and research institutions. She called for innovation in school-running and talent-cultivation models and the management and evaluation mechanisms, and for the synergistic development of education, technology, talent, and industry, so as to blaze a new and distinctive trail in university construction that better serves the high-quality development of education and the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. She expressed the hope for further deepening cooperation, vigorously developing the technology service industry, and accelerating the application of scientific and technological advances to empower the digital and intelligent transformation of the manufacturing sector. Such efforts, she noted, will attract more enterprises and talent along the upstream and downstream chains and deliver mutual benefits and win-win outcomes in boosting Sichuan's high-quality development.

Zhang Xingming, Xiao Song, and Liu Qing stated that, as beneficiaries of reform and opening up, they stand ready to fully support the high-quality establishment of Guang'an Institute of Technology. They committed to channeling domestic and international resources, innovating institutional mechanisms for running the institute, building distinctive academic disciplines, and promoting deep industry-education integration, all in an effort to help create a high-level application-oriented university. They also pledged to take an active part in the AI Plus initiative, support technological innovation among more small and medium-sized enterprises, and promote the systematic, full-chain transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements. Through this two-way commitment and win-win cooperation, they aim to contribute even greater momentum to Sichuan's high-quality development.
