"For just over 300 yuan, you can enjoy lifetime unlimited free entry to 14 scenic areas rated 4A-class or above." On January 28, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture held an event in Chengdu under the theme "Holy Ganzi, A Lifetime Promise". The occasion includes the Global Debut of the Lifetime Access Pass for China Ganzi Scenic Area event and the launch of the prefecture's agricultural, cultural, tourism, sports, and commercial activities for 2026. During the event, Ganzi formally introduced its lifetime entry pass policy for scenic spots. Tourists need only pay slightly over 300 yuan to purchase a lifetime access card. This grants them unlimited lifetime free entry to a total of 14 scenic spots rated 4A-class or higher, including two 5A-rated attractions: Hailuogou and Daocheng Yading.
The newly launched lifetime passes come in two categories. The first is the "Lifetime Travel Pass" for a single scenic area, sold at the respective site's standard ticket price. The second is a comprehensive "Lifetime Access Pass" covering all 14 fee-charging scenic spots across the prefecture. This comprehensive card has two variants: the Gong Ga Crabapple Card and the Gong Ga Eagle Card, priced at 317 yuan and 318 yuan, respectively. Their design inspiration is drawn from the "Silk Road Ganzi" G317 highway and the "China's Landscape Avenue" G318 highway. The card names are derived from the Ganzi Prefecture flower, the crabapple, and the prefecture bird, the golden eagle.
The comprehensive lifetime pass grants access to scenic spots including: two 5A-rated attractions, Hailuogou and Daocheng Yading; and twelve 4A-rated sites, namely, Mugecuo in Kangding, Muya Holy Land in Kangding, Jiaju Tibetan Village in Danba, Luding Bridge, Wuxuhai in Jiulong, Moshi Park in Daofu, Yala Snow Mountain in Daofu, Letong Ancient Town in Litang, Cuopu Valley in Batang, Hongshan Mountain in Xinlong, Dege Sutra-Printing House, and Yulong Lacuo in Dege. The combined single-visit admission cost for all the scenic spots listed above totals 1,091 yuan.
The policy is accompanied by support mechanisms such as a seven-day no-questions-asked refund option to enhance the visitor experience.
Currently, a unified pass gate system for the lifetime access pass has been established across all 14 fee-charging scenic spots in Ganzi Prefecture. The system supports multimodal verification for entry, including ID cards, physical passes, and facial recognition. Stress testing has been completed to ensure smooth operational performance.
During the launch event, Ganzi Prefecture also publicly unveiled its cultural and tourism mascot IPs for the first time: "A Tu the Marmot" and "a Bu the Snow Leopard". At the event site, multiple travel agencies purchased over 600,000 lifetime passes. Concurrently, Ganzi Prefecture presented cooperative institutions with complimentary winter admission tickets valued at approximately 13 million yuan.
Sales of the relevant lifetime passes commence today and are available through official channels, such as the WeChat Mini Program "Ganzi Prefecture Scenic Area Lifetime Pass Official Platform". The benefits of the passes will officially take effect starting March 1. From that date, lifetime pass holders can use their passes or ID cards for unlimited visits to the aforementioned scenic spots.
