On the morning of January 7, the inaugural meeting of the Red Cross Society of China Sichuan University Branch was held at the Jiang'an Campus of Sichuan University. Yang Xingping, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province and President of the Red Cross Society of China Sichuan Branch, attended the meeting and presented the official name plaque to the Sichuan University Branch.

In recent years, with the strong support of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, the Red Cross Society of China Sichuan Branch, in coordination with the Department of Education, has undertaken strategic planning and proactive exploration to continuously strengthen Red Cross work in universities in the new era. Enhancing Organizational Capacity. Efforts have been focused on multiple dimensions, including organizational structure, institutional systems, and management, leading to an all-round upgrade in the capabilities of Red Cross Society university branches in the province. Deepening Life Education. Emergency first-aid training has been integrated into the health education curriculum, with initiatives to promote first-aid knowledge in military training and regular classes. To date, more than 20 universities across the province have established emergency first-aid training bases, providing a solid guarantee for campus life safety. Expanding University‑Local Collaboration. The scope of activities has been broadened, with Red Cross Society branches actively stepping beyond campuses to engage in primary-level governance. Building Platforms for Cultural Exchange. The Red Cross Youth Network of Sichuan Branch has been established. A series of initiatives have been launched, such as the University Student International Humanitarian Debate Competition, the University Student Red Cross Emergency First Aid Skills Competition, the Chengdu‑Chongqing Red Cross Youth Summer Camp, and the University Red Cross Volunteer Service Development Plan, fostering expansive space for the innovative development of the Red Cross Society in higher education institutions.

Currently, the Red Cross Society-related work in universities across the province is demonstrating a new dynamic of rapid progress and vibrant development. All 141 regular higher education institutions in Sichuan have established their own university-level Red Cross Society branches, achieving a 100 percent establishment rate.
