The 11th Sichuan Agricultural Expo Opens in Chengdu
Updated: 2025.09.08

On September 4, the 11th Sichuan Agricultural Expo (SAE) opened in Chengdu, and the 11th Chengdu International Urban Modern Agricultural Expo was held concurrently at the same venue. The event is scheduled to run through September 7.

Under the theme "Strengthening Agricultural Clusters and Chains, Building the Tianfu Granary Brand", the SAE enhances its role as a major agricultural platform through indoor and field exhibits, in a bid to better facilitate the introduction and cultivation of leading entities, connect production and sales, streamline distribution channels, aggregate resources, and improve the industrial ecosystem. The indoor exhibition spans 100,000 square meters, primarily hosting product promotions, supply-demand matchmaking, and e-commerce livestreaming events. The field exhibition, located at the China Tianfu Agricultural Expo Park in Chengdu's Xinjin District, showcases new scenarios, formats, and models of the "Agriculture Plus" industrial ecosystem, alongside synchronized field activities. This edition of the SAE debuts the Sichuan hundred-billion-yuan specialty agricultural industries pavilion, highlighting the province's "1+1+8" hundred-billion-yuan premium specialty agricultural sectors. The pavilion showcases chain-master enterprises and their ecosystem partners under Sichuan's initiative to build cluster ecosystems and strengthen chains, demonstrate Sichuan's proactive efforts to build an integrated production supply chain, deep and refined processing chain, and brand value chain, and facilitates precise connections between producers and buyers, thus driving collaborative action to establish a higher-level "Tianfu Granary" in the new era.

The current SAE features Kazakhstan as the guest country of honor, Hainan Province as the theme province, and Liangshan Prefecture as the theme city (prefecture). The event brings together over 1,800 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions, including Germany and Italy, as well as multiple domestic provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) and cities (prefectures) within Sichuan. Ugandan coffee beans, fresh bamboo shoots identical to those consumed by giant pandas, and China's first multi-colored wood ear mushroom variety—these are among the innovative agricultural products featured on site. The event also showcases cutting-edge technologies, such as livestock feeding robots and barn inspection devices that enable unmanned barn management, alongside compact electric agricultural machinery specifically designed for Sichuan's terrain and climate.

This year's SAE is guided by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and hosted by Sichuan International Expo Group.
