On September 23, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism held its regular press conference for the third quarter of 2025, introducing the main events and the progress of preparation for the 14th China Art Festival.

The 14th China Art Festival is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, and the People's Government of Sichuan Province. Under the theme "Art Enlivens Ba-Shu Land, Together Illustrating a New Chapter of the Era", the festival will open in Chengdu on October 15 and conclude in Chongqing on November 5, with related activities continuing until the end of the year.

The festival's program features multiple main events, including the opening and closing ceremonies, the Splendor Award selection, featured theatrical performances, public benefit shows, fine arts exhibitions, and artistic critiques. More than 100 outstanding stage productions and 174 public cultural works will be presented. Simultaneously, approximately 1,000 outstanding pieces of national fine art, calligraphy, seal engraving, and photography will be exhibited. The festival will also feature a vibrant array of collaborative events. Chongqing and Sichuan will join hands to present diverse programs, including a "Theater Tale of Two Cities", fine arts exhibitions, acrobatics and magic shows, as well as intangible cultural heritage and digital art exhibitions. Additionally, ten large-scale public cultural events will be organized. Premium cultural tourism itineraries, such as "Follow the Performance to Travel" and "Night at the Art Museum", are designed to actively boost integrated cultural and tourism consumption. Furthermore, the "Internet + Performing Arts" model will expand the boundaries of artistic expression, enhance aesthetic experiences, and strengthen a sense of participation among younger demographics.

The upcoming festival will adhere to its purpose of being "a grand gathering for the arts, a festive celebration for the people", guided by the principles of "innovation, openness, excellence, sharing, and integration". It will focus on exceptional artistic creations, showcase the sector's developmental achievements, promote online-offline integration, and implement a dual approach of performances and broadcasts. The festival aims to realize the vision of "experiencing hundreds of major theatrical productions, appreciating thousands of exhibition pieces, and gathering the vitality of millions", thereby continually forging a display platform representing the highest artistic standards.
