On September 10, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev and his delegation in Chengdu.

Shi Xiaolin welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev on his first visit to Sichuan and gave a brief introduction to Sichuan's development. She noted that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, Sichuan and Azerbaijan have witnessed a continuous improvement in economic and trade exchanges, deepened and expanded sister-city cooperation, strengthened mutual support, and maintained dynamic cultural and people-to-people exchanges. The two places face many common development challenges, which present extensive opportunities and a broad space for deepening cooperation. We hope to take His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister's current visit as an opportunity to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, further enhance intergovernmental exchanges and sister-city cooperation, build on our respective resource strengths and industrial foundations, and pragmatically advance cooperation in economy and trade, investment, energy, logistics, culture and tourism, education, healthcare and other fields to achieve greater outcomes, thus creating a pattern of mutual benefit and delivering a brighter future for people in both places.

Mustafayev said that his trip to Sichuan left him with a deep and wonderful impression. Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the traditional friendship between China and Azerbaijan has deepened progressively, and bilateral cooperation has flourished. Azerbaijan regards Sichuan as a key cooperative province within China and will, under the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthen people-to-people exchanges, continuously advance sister-city partnerships, deepen practical cooperation in energy, logistics, industry, agriculture, culture and tourism, and expand cultural interactions. We welcome Sichuan enterprises to invest and establish businesses in Azerbaijan, and we will provide comprehensive support services to facilitate their operations. Together, we will promote substantial achievements across various fields of cooperation, ultimately enhancing the well-being of people in both places.

Bunyad Huseynov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to China, Elnur Aliyev, Azerbaijan's First Deputy Minister of Economy, Yang Xingping, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, Hu Yuankun, a member of the Party Leading Group of the provincial government, and heads of relevant provincial departments, among others, attended.
