On September 9, the Sanxingdui Cultural Tourism Development Zone project was officially initiated in Guanghan, Deyang City. This project will make full use of the cultural resources of Sanxingdui, utilizing distinctive architecture and immersive cultural experiences to create an oriental cultural tourism and vacation destination with international influence.

Located east of the Sanxingdui Museum, the project spans a total planned area of 815 mu (approximately 54.3 hectares) with a gross floor area of approximately 160,000 square meters. It aims to establish a diversified format system integrating "culture + tourism + commerce + N" sectors. Facilities will include a visitor center, distribution plaza, art park, immersive theater, cultural relic revitalization exhibition hall, themed commercial street, characteristic inns, and resort hotels. Through the integration of accommodations, performances, parades, and commerce, the project will create a new cultural tourism consumption scenario emphasizing strong experiences and deep immersion. The project will be constructed in two phases. Phase I includes a 115-mu (approximately 7.7-hectare) resort hotel and a 165-mu (11-hectare) demonstration zone, scheduled to open in July 2026. Phase II, covering 535 mu (approximately 35.7 hectares) of core scenic areas, is planned to debut during the 2028 Spring Festival period.

The new building of the Sanxingdui Museum has received 11.20 million visits since its opening in 2023. Upon the overall completion of the project, the Sanxingdui Cultural Tourism Development Zone will become a world-class cultural tourism destination integrating cultural experiences, leisure vacations, conventions, and business travel.
