On June 26, the reporter learned from the Sichuan Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration that the Ancient Shu Civilization and Cultural Relics Themed Tourist Trail was recently released. This trail features two key routes: "The Origins of Ancient Shu" and "The Light of Civilization". It leverages the three major national archaeological site parks—Baodun Ancient City, Sanxingdui, and Jinsha—interlinking pivotal historical sites. In conjunction with the site museums, it offers a comprehensive glimpse into the evolutionary journey and cultural connotations of the ancient Shu civilization.
"The Origins of Ancient Shu" thematic route starts from the Yingpan Mountain site in Maoxian County in the west and extends to the Sanxingdui site in Guanghan in the east. It encompasses significant locations like the Jiangwei City site in Wenchuan, the Mangcheng site in Dujiangyan, and several museums, including the Qiang Museum of Maoxian, Wenchuan Museum, Sanxingdui Museum, and Shifang Museum. This route highlights the geographical migration of the Ancient Shu people from the western Sichuan plateau to the Minjiang and Tuojiang river basins, offering insights into the resilience and wisdom of the ancient Shu ancestors as they interacted with their natural surroundings during the progression of their civilization.
"The Light of Civilization" thematic route encompasses the renowned Baodun Ancient City, Sanxingdui, and Jinsha archaeological sites. Integrating major cultural relic display institutions such as the Sichuan Museum, Chengdu Museum, and Sichuan University Museum, it offers a comprehensive exploration of the magnificent ancient Shu civilization and highlights its urban planning, agricultural advancements, artisanal skills, and cultural exchanges, underscoring the integral role of the ancient Shu in the integration of Chinese civilization.
In the future, the Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration will continue to explore sustainable models for the conservation and utilization of ancient Shu civilization sites, leveraging the protection of large heritage sites and the construction of archaeological site parks. These efforts aim to make the cultural essence and historical significance embodied by these heritage sites more accessible and tangible, thereby empowering and enhancing cultural-tourism integration, rural revitalization, and urban renewal initiatives.
