On May 28, the "Chengdu Envision Night" 2025 Global Cross-Border Tourism (Sichuan) Conference &Trip.com Group Global Partner Gala was held in Chengdu. Nearly 2,000 tourism industry professionals from 66 countries and regions around the world gathered in this land of abundance, immersing themselves in the unique charm of Sichuan's cultural and tourism landscape and discussing a new chapter in the development of inbound tourism. Hu Yun, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, attended the event and delivered a speech.
In recent years, Sichuan has introduced a series of incentive policies for inbound tourism, leading to a substantial surge in inbound visitor numbers. Since last year, multiple scenic areas across the province have seen record-high inbound tourist arrivals, demonstrating the new vitality of the "Bashu Tourism" brand. This event brings together tourism bureaus, well-known hospitality groups, airlines, tourism organizations and industry alliances from 66 countries and regions around the world, as well as professionals from relevant tourism sectors, including those from renowned domestic and international media outlets and travel influencers. The event will run through May 30.
The "Chengdu Envision Night" gala that evening featured distinctive programs embodying Sichuan's charm, such as the Sichuan Opera's face-changing performance and Tibetan-Qiang ethnic costume show, along with performances of Shaanxi Biegu drum and Xinjiang Muqam art, collectively presenting a vibrant cultural night. The gala also highlighted Sichuan's cultural and tourism offerings through a scenario-based promotion. During the ceremony, Trip.com Group unveiled the 2025 "Trip.Best Award" and research reports on China's cross-border tourism in 2025. Notably, Chengdu secured a spot on Trip.com's "2025 Global 100 Must-visit Destinations" list. During the event, a drone fleet delivered the themed performance "Wings of Innovation". As 4,000 drones illuminated the night sky, they vividly showcased the dynamic panorama of Sichuan's modernization drive.
Before the event, the attending guests visited the venue of the 9th International Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival Chengdu, China, experiencing the cultural connotations embedded in the splendid intangible cultural heritage. Next, they will embark on tours of Sichuan's world heritage sites, including Mount Qingcheng and Dujiangyan irrigation system, Mount Emei–Leshan Giant Buddha scenic areas, Jiuzhaigou Valley, and Huanglong. These visits will help build a bridge for cooperation and communication, jointly promoting the inbound tourism in Sichuan to new heights.
