From May 14 to 15, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, inspected Tongjiang County and Pingchang County in Bazhong City, as well as Wanyuan City in Dazhou City. He emphasized the need to deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important instructions regarding Sichuan's work, always put the people above all else, persistently implement the spirit of the central Party leadership's eight-point decision on improving conduct, strive even harder and take concrete actions in continuously improving work conduct and maintaining close ties with the people, and ensure that new achievements in high-quality development bring greater benefits to the people in the old revolutionary base areas.

During the inspection, Wang Xiaohui attentively listened to reports from Bazhong City and Dazhou City regarding their progress in the education program on deepening the implementation of the central Party leadership's eight-point decision on improving conduct, among other situations, and he commended both cities for their achievements in executing these educational initiatives. Noting that conducting this education program is a key task for Party building this year, he stressed that the Party organizations at all levels should earnestly implement the arrangements and requirements of the Party Central Committee, promote study, examination and rectification in a holistic manner, and guide the Party members and officials to be strict and courageous in self-reform, overcome shortcomings, solve problems and acknowledge mistakes and rectify them where they exist, continuously strive for excelling themselves, and transform the exemplary work conduct cultivated through the education program into a powerful driving force for advancing work progress. In Xiangjiaping Village, situated in Guandu Town, Wanyuan City, villagers have achieved sustained income growth by cultivating specialty Chinese medicinal herbs, notably the Tendrilleaf Fritillary Bulb in Hua'e Mountain (known as E'bei in Chinese). Additionally, this village is also where Zhou Yongkai, a recipient of the July 1 Medal, performed his commendable deeds. Wang Xiaohui visited the Siyuan Experimental School and the Urban-Rural Water Supply Integrated Scheduling Command Center in Pingchang County, conducted an inspection and provided guidance on the concentrated rectification efforts targeting misconduct and corruption that occur at people's doorsteps, inspected and gained an understanding of the specific measures taken to address the prominent issues with "school meals" and the practical steps implemented to rectify the inadequate operational maintenance of rural water supply projects, among other areas of work. He pointed out that misconduct and corruption issues occurring at people's doorsteps directly affect people's sense of fulfillment and happiness, so we should integrate our work with the current education program on deepening the implementation of the central Party leadership's eight-point decision on improving conduct, make continuous efforts to ensure that the rectification work is practical and detailed, effectively address prominent issues in key areas while realistically solving pressing difficulties and concerns that resonate deeply with the people, and deliver good services and tangible benefits to the people with sincere care and dedication, ensuring that these positive changes are genuinely experienced and accessible to all. The Hujiaba Stone Quarry in Guandu Town, Wanyuan City, was cited as a typical case in the central ecological and environmental protection inspection report for illegally mining on forest land and implementing lax and inadequate ecological restoration efforts. During the inspection tour, Wang Xiaohui made an unannounced visit to the mining site of the stone quarry employing the "four unannounced and two direct" supervision approach, where he inspected the vegetation damage on mountain slopes and oversaw the efforts in ecological restoration, rectification and improvement. He emphasized that a sound ecological environment is the most inclusive benefit for people's well-being. It is vital, he stressed, to grasp the ecological restoration with a strong sense of political responsibility and urgency, establish a long-term management and protection mechanism, and ensure that the rectification is completed on schedule.

During the inspection, Wang Xiaohui additionally went to the Red Army Martyr Cemetery of Sichuan-Shaanxi Revolutionary Base located in Wangping Village, Tongjiang County. He presented a flower basket to the Red Army Martyrs Memorial Monument, made three deep bows in respect, offered flowers at the collective tomb of the martyrs, and stood in contemplation to pay homage in front of the Red Army Martyrs Memorial Wall, deeply commemorating the heroic revolutionary martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice. We should make good use of the cultural resources related to the Party's heritage, build on our sound ecological foundation, explore new ideas and paths for deepening cultural-tourism integration in combination with the endeavors of the new era, and strive to propel the comprehensive "culture-tourism plus" initiative forward.

Currently, Sichuan is in the flood season, while some of its regions are experiencing drought conditions. Wang Xiaohui demands that all localities and departments must earnestly assume their responsibilities, implement integrated prevention and mitigation measures for both droughts and floods, sustain rigorous preparedness and response measures for disasters such as flash floods, landslides and debris flows, and coordinate relevant efforts to ensure workplace safety in key industries and fields such as road traffic and construction, in a bid to effectively protect the lives and property of the people.
