On April 14, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, visited Sichuan University, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and Southwest Jiaotong University to inspect coordination work. She expressed gratitude to the ministries-affiliated universities in Sichuan for their contributions to the province's development and hoped for collaborative efforts with these universities to deeply implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discussions regarding education, his series of significant directives related to Sichuan's work, and the plans set at the National Conference on Education, effectively carry out the basic task of fostering virtue through education, strive to develop education that meets the people's expectations, fully leverage the role of universities as hubs for high-end talent, sources of technological innovation, and primary bases for talent cultivation, promote the integrated development of education, science and technology, and human resources while facilitating their linkage and integration with industrial dynamics, accelerate the cultivation and development of new quality productive forces, and work together to better serve the country's major strategies and drive greater achievements in Sichuan's high-quality development.

Shi Xiaolin visited Sichuan University to investigate the development of humanities and social sciences, innovations and commercialization of polymer materials science, and other advancements. At the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, she gained insights into progress in collaborative research, focusing on neural technology, brain-apparatus communication, and intelligent computing technology. At Southwest Jiaotong University, she explored the development and application of atomic-level manufacturing equipment and the construction and operation of the Quasi-axisymmetric Stellarator Test device. Additionally, she inquired about the "Double First-Class" initiative and graduate employment situations in each university.

Shi Xiaolin stated that universities are an important force and a valuable asset for the high-quality development of Sichuan. Sichuan will enhance the synergy between universities and local development, support universities to closely align their development with regional and national needs, proactively respond to national strategic needs and high-quality development requirements, aim for significant advancements in discipline building, talent development, technological innovation, industry-education integration, and community engagement, and move faster to establish first-class universities with distinctive features and strengths.
