After days of thrilling competitions, the World Games Series 2025 Chengdu concluded all its events on March 30, successfully drawing to a close. The host venue, the Chengdu Eastern New Area, was honored with the title of "Outstanding Contribution Venue for the World Games Series" by the International World Games Association (IWGA).

At the closing ceremony, the audience was treated to short films that recollected inspiring stories where sportsmanship harmoniously blended with the rich traditions of Tianfu culture and where Eastern rhythms intertwined with the light of the future. They also relived the extraordinary moments when athletes from around the world pushed their limits and shined on their respective competition fields. During the competition, 122 athletes from 28 countries and regions competed in three major categories and four sub-categories, including boules, diving and lifesaving, creating numerous memorable moments. The Italian team ultimately topped the gold medal table with seven gold medals.

Serving as an important warm-up for the 12th edition of The World Games (hereinafter referred to as the TWG 2025 Chengdu), this tournament left a profound impression on all parties involved. "The venue is excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed the competition," said Yan Linlin, a member of China's national Boules Sports team. Visiting Chengdu for the first time, she was deeply impressed by the city's hospitality and its appealing charm. Japanese freediver Yasuko Ozeki enthusiastically shared her post-competition joy on social media, displaying the panda-inspired souvenir and official mascots Shu Bao and Jin Zai from TWG 2025 Chengdu that she received during the awards ceremony. "This tournament was a high-caliber competition that basically adhered to the standards set for the TWG 2025 Chengdu," stated José Perurena, President of the IWGA. He emphasized that the competition was favorably regarded by both athletes and referees, particularly in regard to its organization and hospitality services. "We're boarding the express train to the TWG 2025 Chengdu via this tournament. In every aspect, Chengdu stands prepared," he said.

The TWG 2025 Chengdu, scheduled for August 7 to 17, marks the first occasion that TWG will be hosted on the Chinese mainland. The event will encompass 35 major, 61 sub and 254 minor categories, with a focus on non-Olympic disciplines. Notably, it will also feature seven sports that are scheduled to be part of the official competition at the Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, which are breakdancing, trampoline, rock climbing, flag football, softball, lacrosse and squash. The Games has selected 28 competition venues across eight areas, including locations in Sichuan Tianfu New Area, Chengdu High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and Chengdu Eastern New Area. These facilities consist of 13 indoor venues (sites) and 15 outdoor venues (sites).
