On December 1, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with a delegation led by José Perurena López, President of the International World Games Association (IWGA), in Chengdu.

Shi Xiaolin welcomed President José Perurena López and other old friends from the IWGA on their visit to Sichuan again. She stated that under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and with support from various sectors, we, in collaboration with the IWGA and the respective international sports federations, have delivered a streamlined, safe, splendid and unforgettable edition of The World Games (TWG). This achievement will have a positive and driving impact on the progress of both the IWGA and Sichuan's sports development, contribute to the long-term growth of Chengdu and the province as a whole, and enhance the well-being of the people. The TWG spirit has been woven into the city's fabric and the hearts of its citizens. We are systematically advancing the preservation and utilization of TWG's legacy, transforming it into valuable assets for urban development, economic vitality, and public benefit. We hope all athletes, team officials, and technical officials will frequently return to Sichuan for visits, relive their wonderful Chengdu memories, and further promote exchanges and cooperation in sports, culture, and beyond. It is hoped that we can jointly promote more international individual sports events to be held in Sichuan, so as to inspire the public's competitive spirit of striving to challenge themselves and foster healthier lifestyles. Through technology-enabled support, we aim to ensure safer and more orderly event operations while continuously elevating our standards in event organization.

José Perurena López once again expressed his gratitude to Sichuan Province and Chengdu City for their dedicated efforts in making TWG a complete success. He remarked that this trip to Chengdu for the final Coordination Committee (CoCom) meeting of TWG Chengdu, which completes the "final piece of the puzzle" for this edition of the Games, is a journey that both wraps up the past and opens a new chapter for the future. The high-caliber teams of Sichuan Province and Chengdu City worked in concert to deliver a high-quality edition of TWG, demonstrating internationally professional standards in event organization. He expressed his hope to deepen and broaden mutually beneficial cooperation, facilitate the hosting of more TWG events in Sichuan, and foster a deeper integration of sports into urban development and citizens' lives.

The meeting was attended by Tom Dielen, Vice President of IWGA, Joachim Gossow, Chief Executive Officer of IWGA, Yang Xingping, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, Hu Yuankun, Secretary-General of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and leading officials from relevant provincial departments and Chengdu city, among others.
