At a cultural tourism investment promotion event, "integration" emerged as the keyword. On November 26, the 2025 Sichuan Cultural and Tourism Key Investment Project Promotion Conference, hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism and supported by the Guangzhou Office of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, was held in Guangzhou. The conference presented 480 selected cultural and tourism projects to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with a total investment value reaching 570 billion yuan.
Guangdong, a region renowned for its concentration of cultural tourism capital and vibrant market, has always been a crucial hub for investment promotion in the cultural tourism industry. This investment promotion initiative further broke down boundaries. On one hand, enterprises from diverse sectors in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, including film and television production, outdoor sports, digital technology, and green energy, are specially invited to attend the conference to jointly explore cross-sector collaboration. On the other hand, the selection of on-site roadshow projects prioritized the modern, digital, and integrated development directions of the cultural and tourism industry chain. A number of representative projects for the integrated development of culture, sports, tourism, commerce, and exhibitions have been carefully selected, such as the Tianfu Olympic Sports Park International Convention Island in Chengdu Eastern New Area and the Jiuzhaigou Shuangliudi Tourism-Commercial Complex in Aba, offering local entrepreneurs a diverse portfolio of options.
Fu Yibin, chief architect of China Tourism Development Unit and an entrepreneur representative at the conference, told the reporter that the promoted projects fully demonstrate new trends such as "cultural and tourism plus commerce" and "cultural and tourism plus sports". "We will pay closer attention to projects such as urban leisure tourism destinations and technology-driven upgrades in traditional scenic areas launched by Sichuan this time, with an aim to seek cooperation opportunities," Fu said.
In addition to the centralized presentations, the event specifically set aside free negotiation sessions, providing a targeted matching platform for both supply and demand sides.
Dazhou City highlighted its Ba Culture heritage, red tourism resources, and Daba Mountain ecological wellness assets as key investment opportunities. According to the relevant official, this event has broadened the ideas for activating local high-quality resources through market-oriented approaches and new business models. Ziyang City featured the Anyue Grottoes Cultural Park project, detailing plans to deepen cooperation in cultural tourism digitalization and creative product development, aiming to use digital technology to bring the Anyue stone carvings to life.
Leveraging the investment promotion conference, the delegation doubled as a study group, conducting field visits to Guangzhou's Shamian Island Historical Block and the Yangcheng Creative Industry Park to gain targeted insights into urban renewal, cultural-tourism development, and smart tourism initiatives. An official from the Ya'an Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcast-TV, Sports, and Tourism stated that the field visits demonstrated how cultural heritage preservation and modern industrial innovation can be mutually reinforcing, providing new ideas for preserving Ya'an's intangible cultural heritage and revitalizing underutilized assets.
"Sincerest commitment, most favorable policies, and premium services" emerged as a key highlight of this investment project conference. An official from the Department of Culture and Tourism explained that this year, Sichuan has introduced a series of robust, multi-dimensional, and full-chain support policies covering eight key areas, such as planning and design guidance, promotion of major projects, and brand building support. These measures include offering up to six million yuan in incentives for newly introduced high-level performances, major cultural tourism consumption events, and internationally significant sports events. Meanwhile, at the municipal and prefectural level, locally-tailored and impactful support policies have also been rolled out.
