Updated: 2025.11.19

From November 12 to 14, Sichuan observed its first autumn holiday for primary and secondary schools. The autumn holiday, combined with the following weekend, formed a five-day vacation that unleashed substantial parent-child tourism demand. Platform data shows that during the autumn holiday, total ticket bookings in Sichuan Province surged 3.4 times year-on-year and increased 1.4 times compared to the five days before the holiday. The derivation of diverse consumption patterns, including sea-of-clouds viewing, colorful forest appreciation, street exploration, heritage site visits, and hot spring bathing, has fueled sustained growth in Sichuan's cultural tourism market.

During the autumn holiday, Xiling Snow Mountain Scenic Area launched a series ofimmersive activities, such as the "Eternal Snow · Blooming Rhododendrons" hiking challenge and "Autumn Treasure Hunt", and offered free admission tickets and free Yuanyang Pool cable car tickets to visitors aged 18 and below. The Mount Qingcheng-Dujiangyan Scenic Area has introduced a themed program series titled "Youth Tour of Sichuan: Water Worship &Daoist Quest", providing complimentary admission to all primary and secondary school students aged 18 and below nationwide. Accompanying parents also qualify for discounted entrance tickets and mountain train fares. Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area offered complimentary admission to primary and secondary students aged 18 and below from within the province. From November 12 to 16, the attraction consistently reached its daily capacity limit of 41,000 visitors.

The autumn holiday travel boom has energized cultural and tourism-related sectors, including catering, accommodation, and study tours. Hotels at popular destinations like Mount Siguniang, Xiling Snow Mountain, and Mount Qingcheng reported fully booked conditions, while experiential programs featuring outdoor adventures, folk crafts, and field farming saw surging popularity, with related institutions reporting more than double the number of inquiries compared to the same period last year.

To manage autumn holiday visitor flows in an orderly manner, multiple scenic areas promptly implemented crowd control measures. Zigong Fantawild Dino Kingdom extended its closing time from 19:00 to 21:00. Xiling Snow Mountain issued consecutive daily capacity restriction notices advising tourists not to visit without a reservation. Mount Siguniang redirected tourists to Changping Valley and Haizi Valley after Shuangqiao Valley bookings reached capacity. And sites like Erlang Mountain's Laba River and Wawu Mountain extended discounted ticket periods through November 30 to encourage off-peak visitation.
