The 2025 Sichuan Provincial Cultural and Tourism Development Conference to Be Held on October 29 in Mianyang

On October 23, the Information Office of the People's Government of Sichuan Province held a press conference to introduce the relevant situation about the 2025 Sichuan Provincial Cultural and Tourism Development Conference and the 11th China (Sichuan) International Tourism Investment Conference. The reporter learned from the press conference that the conference will be held in Mianyang City on October 29.

The conference is hosted by the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, co-organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism and Mianyang City. It will feature a "1+2" activity framework, where "1" refers to one core conference and "2" comprises one exhibition and a series of supporting activities. The event will feature prominent cultural figures presenting the "Splendid Sichuan: Land of Abundance" tourism brand through four themed chapters, "Where Splendid Landscapes Unfold Like Ink-Wash Art", "Where All Trades Converge to Build the Land of Abundance", "Where Local Life Blends with Leisurely Charm into a Living Painting", and "Where Infinite Wonders Await Your Journey in Sichuan". This immersive, scenario-based presentation will showcase Sichuan's new models, formats, highlights, and achievements in cultural and tourism development to a global audience.

The event prioritizes investment promotion, leveraging culture to foster connections and tourism as a bridge. It will showcase Sichuan's investment environment and unveil new investment opportunities, focusing on ten specialized sectors within the cultural and tourism industry chain, as well as major cross-regional integration projects. A total of 480 curated projects—spanning performing arts, digital culture, leisure and vacation tourism, rural tourism, and wellness travel—have been selected from a province-wide call, systematically illustrating the new vision for Sichuan's integrated cultural and tourism development. The event will also host a centralized signing ceremony for major cultural and tourism investment projects. This three-phase process—matching, facilitating, and finalizing agreements—will systematically transform Sichuan's abundant cultural and tourism resources into drivers of high-quality development.

One exhibition refers to the "Splendid Sichuan: Land of Abundance" Integrated Culture and Tourism Thematic Exhibition, which comprehensively presents the phased achievements in the deep integration of culture and tourism since the seventh plenary session of the 12th CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee. Meanwhile, a series of supporting events will be held, including the "Sichuan Ease· Mianyang Night" international cultural and tourism promotion on the evening of October 28. This event will feature 17 artistic performances that integrate technology and art, vividly showcasing Sichuan's most iconic cultural symbols. Furthermore, a series of follow-up activities will be conducted, including cultural and tourism investment promotion events and inspection tours for international travel agencies.

Xiao Ting, Chief Planner of the Department of Culture and Tourism, stated that Sichuan will focus on high-quality supply, high-capacity platforms, and high-efficiency mechanisms in the next step to build a "1+10+N" premium cultural and tourism consumption brand system, fully stimulating consumption potential in these sectors. The "1+10+N" premium cultural tourism consumption brand system is anchored to the provincial master brand "Splendid Sichuan: Land of Abundance". It focuses on new tourism consumption trends and introduces ten curated brands launched at the provincial level, such as "Must-Visit Sichuan in Youth", "Panda Companions", and "Warm Snow on Shu Mountains". Meanwhile, cities and prefectures are encouraged to develop "N" local characteristic brands, including Chengdu's "Chengdu Nuptial Celebrations" and Mianyang's "Young Favoring Mianyang". This creates a premium cultural-tourism brand ecosystem with clear themes, diverse offerings, and high-quality experiences through coordinated provincial-municipal efforts.

Simultaneously, the province will focus on developing the debut economy, night economy, silver economy, and ice-snow economy. Emphasizing coordinated development across all regions and supply for all age groups, it will innovatively launch the "Winter Tour of Sichuan" consumption season. Through collaboration with cities and prefectures, Sichuan will introduce high-quality winter tourism products such as ski resorts, hot springs, and vacation zones, alongside organizing over 2,000 cultural and tourism consumption promotion events. Sichuan will continue to roll out themed initiatives like "Travel Sichuan with the Sichuan Super League", increasing the frequency of direct shuttle services between event venues and scenic areas to create "second viewing sites" and extend the matchday experience. The province will also deepen its three-year action plan to boost inbound tourism, leveraging the visa-free transit and departure tax-refund policies and streamlining processes for ticket bookings and online/offline shopping for inbound tourists, in a bid to convert more first-time international visitors into repeat guests.
