On October 21, the Sichuan-Chongqing Low-Altitude Tourism Corridor, coupled with a live aerial broadcast event dubbed "Aerial Sichuan", was launched in Chengdu. The event marks the beginning of a series of cross-scenic, cross-regional verification flights dedicated to low-altitude tourism.
The event was guided by the Office of the Provincial Commission for Integrated Military and Civilian Development, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Department of Culture and Tourism, and the CAAC Southwest Regional Administration. It was jointly hosted by Chuanguan News and Aerofugia. The event will offer a new perspective on the Ba-Shu region. It allows participants to behold iconic landmarks, such as Mianyang's Yuewang Tower, Guangyuan's Jianmen Pass, Yibin's southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea, Bazhong's Guangwu Mountain, Ya'an's Bifeng Gorge, and Meishan's Former Residence of Su Dongpo, from a breathtaking aerial vantage point. Guided by the "Low-Altitude Tourism Corridor" concept, it will efficiently connect premium cultural and tourism resources across Sichuan and Chongqing. Through innovative models like "low-altitude + scenic areas", "low-altitude + hotels", and "low-altitude + waystations", the initiative aims to create an integrated scenario of seamless air-land connectivity in the Sichuan-Chongqing region. By continuously enriching the supply of high-quality tourism products, it seeks to meet the diverse and personalized demands of travelers and expand a new landscape for tourism consumption.
The event is operated utilizing Sichuan's pioneering large passenger-carrying eVTOL aircraft, the first of its type developed in China. Sichuan is advancing its low-altitude cultural tourism industry through a comprehensive approach spanning the complete industrial chain, including R&D and manufacturing, application scenarios, product supply, and service systems. This integrated strategy is fostering the aggregation and cluster-based development of the province's entire low-altitude tourism industrial chain.
The verification flights conducted under this initiative will be live-streamed in full via the Chuanguan News client and third-party social media accounts. The event series is scheduled to run throughout 2026.
