On February 1, the People's Government of Sichuan Province held a Teleconference on Sichuan's Spring Festival Travel Rush in 2024 &Work Safety in Relevant Fields. At the teleconference, all attendees were required to thoroughly study and practice General Secretary Xi Jinping's recent important speeches and instructions on work safety, conscientiously implement the plans and requirements of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and make systematic arrangements for the Spring Festival travel rush and work safety in areas under their charge, to ensure a smooth and orderly Spring Festival travel rush and sustained stability in work safety. Tian Qingying, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, attended and addressed the teleconference.

The teleconference pointed out that this is the first Spring Festival after the stable recovery of COVID-19 prevention and control. People have a strong willingness to travel, and there is a strong demand for goods transportation. Additionally, due to the impacts of severe weather conditions such as low temperatures, rain, and snow, the Spring Festival travel rush and work safety face high pressure. We should effectively deepen our understanding, put the people and their lives first, and accurately recognize that the Spring Festival travel rush and current work safety are extremely important, complex, and arduous tasks. To cope with great challenges, we should solidly carry out various tasks in the Spring Festival travel rush, fully implement the safety requirements in three management fields (industries, business, and production), and resolutely prevent and curb major and serious accidents with the highest standards, strictest requirements, and practical measures.

The teleconference emphasized that we should adhere to the overall goal of "convenience, smoothness, safety, and warmth", strengthen organizational leadership and institutional safeguards regarding the Spring Festival travel rush, focus on key areas and links such as road traffic safety, smooth road conditions, catering, fire protection, and express delivery, and further refine and implement work measures, to ensure the smooth execution of all tasks related to the Spring Festival travel rush. State-owned enterprises under the management of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Sichuan Province need to take firm measures, learn lessons from accidents, overcome negligence, implement the "five ones" work arrangements (holding a meeting, organizing a safety inspection, carrying out a safety promotion, implementing an action plan, and conducting a reminder) during the Spring Festival, and ensure smooth execution in three areas: responsible personnel, work measures, and emergency response. In the fields of railways, civil aviation, and ecological environment, related personnel must focus on their responsibilities, do a good job in ensuring work safety, and firmly guard the bottom line of defense for work safety.
