On February 1, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Head of the Committee's Leading Group for the Theoretical Study Program on the Study and Implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, presided over a meeting of the Leading Group and delivered a speech. He stressed the need to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions, fully implement the deployments and requirements of the CPC Central Committee, do a solid job in all aspects of the final stage, and consolidate and expand the achievements of Sichuan in the theoretical study program.

Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province and Deputy Head of the Leading Group, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, attendees studied the spirit of a relevant central meeting, heard reports on special rectification, deliberated relevant documents, and made arrangements for the future work.

It was noted at the meeting that on January 31, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held a meeting and reviewed relevant documents on the theoretical study program. In his speech, General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward important requirements for continuously strengthening theoretical competence, continuously promoting problem solving, continuously improving conduct, continuously consolidating the foundation at the primary level, and continuously ensure implementation. The speech has provided fundamental guidance for us to perform well in the current and follow-up work of the theoretical study program. We should earnestly study and comprehend the requirements, implement them in combination with actual situations, and align what we think and do with the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech as well as the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee.

The meeting pointed out that since the launch of the theoretical study program in Sichuan in April last year, under the strong leadership and exemplary role of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee, and under the strong guidance of the 12th Central Steering Group for the Theoretical Study Program, Party organizations at all levels have firmly kept in mind the general requirements and objectives set by the CPC Central Committee, taken into account the actual situation of localities, departments and units, and promoted key measures such as theoretical study, investigation and research, growth drive, inspection and rectification, and development of rules and regulations in an integrated manner. The two phases of the theoretical study program were promoted vigorously and orderly, with cadres taking the lead in demonstration and Party members and officials actively participating. Tangible results have been achieved in forging inner strength, increasing wisdom, improving Party conduct and promoting hard work through learning. The theoretical study program has a time limit, but it is a lifelong task to further learn, comprehend and apply the Party's new theories in earnest. We must persevere in learning advanced ideas, enhancing Party consciousness, emphasizing practice and making new achievements. Party organizations at all levels and Party members and officials in Sichuan Province should conscientiously summarize the theoretical, practical and institutional achievements made in the theoretical study program, continue to deepen and consolidate development, and effectively transform the results of the theoretical study program into actual effects for promoting the development of the cause of governing and revitalizing Sichuan.

The meeting pointed out that we should unremittingly enhance cohesion and forge the Party's soul with its new theories, take gaining a thorough understanding of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the first compulsory course to enhance Party consciousness and promote practice, make continuous efforts to grasp and apply the theories, and better understand laws, define directions, learn methods and increase wisdom. We should continue to deliver well in the second half effort of misdeed rectification, strengthen follow-up supervision and focus on key problems. We should consolidate the achievements regarding those that have been solved, continue to push forward ongoing rectification in an orderly manner, and keep an eye on those that need medium- and long-term effort until they are rectified. In particular, we should further promote the special rectification of striking problems in the safety field, floating work style, deception and concealment, and intensify efforts to rectify newly discovered prominent problems, so as to win the recognition of the masses with real rectification. We should put in place a long-term mechanism, turn into systems the good practices and experience formed in the theoretical study program, and provide institutional guarantee for forging inner strength, increasing wisdom, improving Party conduct and promoting hard work through learning.
