During the Spring Festival holiday of 2024, Sichuan Province received 60,478,200 tourist visits, up 9.74% year-on-year and 6.59% compared with the same holiday period of 2019 on a comparable basis. The total tourism-related consumption reached 30.993 billion yuan, increasing by 11.99% year-on-year and recovering to 94.92% of the level in the same period of 2019 on a comparable basis. According to the information released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Sichuan ranked second across the country in terms of tourist visits and third in terms of tourist departures.
Statistics from the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism show that during the holiday period, the number of tourist visits to the province's 833 A-level scenic spots included in the statistics registered 44,881,400, and the combined ticket revenue reached 495 million yuan. These figures represented year-on-year increases of 27.94% and 37.24% respectively. Libraries, cultural centers, and museums across the province received 10,394,600 visits.
During Spring Festival holiday, the province's cultural and tourism system launched an array of over 1,900 activities in 27 series of seven sections. More than 1,780 dragon and lion dance troupes brought vibrancy and festive spirit to various settings, including villages, townships, residential streets, communities, and scenic spots. A series of activities themed "Experience Tianfu Attractions and Delicacies and Savor Intangible Cultural Heritage Food" were held across the province, enveloping participants in the rich essence of the Spring Festival celebration. The night-time economy, encompassing activities like night tours, performances, dining, shopping, and exhibitions, is emerging as a new consumption hotspot. Winter activities, such as ice and snow sports, hot spring bathing, and sunbathing, are especially popular with tourists. Ski resorts, such as those located in Xiling Snow Mountain, Mount Emei, Jiuding Mountain, and Zengjiashan, introduced an array of "ice and snow +" experiences.
Throughout the holiday season, the "Consumption Season of Winter Tour in Sichuan" remained in full swing. A string of favorable policies and tourist-oriented policies was rolled out in various locations to further fuel the surge in tourism.
