On February 8, Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, went to grassroots firefighting stations and transportation hubs in Chengdu to supervise and inspect work safety and support for Spring Festival travel rush. He also visited front-line staff, experts and talent representatives. Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, was on the inspection tour.

During the Spring Festival, with intensive passenger flow and logistics, frequent festival activities and use of fire, electricity and gas have increased the risk of accidents such as fires. At the Second Station of the Special Service Unit of Chengdu Firefighting and Rescue Detachment, Huang carefully inspected the strength building, equipment allocation and material reserve of professional firefighting and rescue teams such as "Flying Leopard" and "Flying Eagle". He also watched search and rescue dog training and high-rise fire drills, and inquired about the investigation of fire safety hazards and the on-call duty and duty arrangement during the holiday. On behalf of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, he extended holiday greetings to firefighters and their families. He praised and thanked them for their efforts in ensuring the safety of people's lives and property, especially achieving "zero fire" during the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games. Huang said that we have more confidence in the well-equipped and energetic firefighters. This year, frequent and continuous safety accidents in China have posed challenges to firefighting and rescue personnel. In response to that, we should firmly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions, be loyal to the Party, keep strict discipline, go all out, and serve the people wholeheartedly. We should rectify problems such as closed emergency exits, illegal installation of anti-theft nets, occupation and blockage of fire passages in a strict, meticulous and practical way, strengthen the safety management of gas and self-built houses and fire prevention for electric bicycles, and never let go of any hidden dangers. Meanwhile, we should improve aviation rescue capabilities, make emergency preparations for disaster prevention and relief, stay alert to protect people's safety, and ensure the peace and harmony of Sichuan people during the festival.

At the departure hall of Terminal 2 of Shuangliu International Airport, Huang inspected airport safety management and watched intangible cultural heritage exhibition and performance. Then he inquired about the operation of "two airports as one" and the support for Spring Festival travel rush while taking Metro Line 19 to Tianfu International Airport, and checked passenger services and train operation arrangements at the Tianfujichang Railway Station. Everywhere he went, he sent good wishes for the New Year to officials and workers fighting on the front line of the Spring Festival travel rush. He said that it only takes half an hour to travel between Chengdu's two hub airports via the 160 km/h metro line, which is the fastest urban rail transit line in China. In addition, the 350 km/h high-speed railway underneath Tianfu Airport is the first of its kind in the world. We should promote the further integration of various modes of transportation, fully share ticketing and other information, optimize passenger guidance services, increase the trains from Chengdudong Railway Station to Tianfu Airport, speed up the efficient and joint development of trunk line airports and feeder airline airports in Sichuan, and give full play to unique advantages. We must take into account complex situations and fully prepare for extreme weather, so that people can travel safely, conveniently and comfortably.

At the AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Research and Design Institute, Huang visited Wang Haifeng, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chief Designer of AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd. On behalf of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, he expressed his gratitude to Academician Wang Haifeng and all scientific and technological workers in the province for their outstanding contributions to national high-level self-reliance in science and technology and Sichuan's high-quality development. He said that this year, Sichuan would make great efforts to develop the AI industry and low-altitude economy to accelerate the cultivation of new productive forces.
