On February 10, the Joint Office for Promoting the Construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle officially issued the List of Major Projects to Jointly Build Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle in 2023. There are 248 major signature projects with a total investment of 3.25 trillion yuan which includes a planned investment of 339.53 billion yuan in 2023.

The projects cover seven key fields, namely modern infrastructure, modern industry, scientific and technological innovation, culture and tourism, ecological shield, opening-up and public services. Among them, the field of jointly building a modern infrastructure network has the largest number of projects and the largest total investment. In the field, there are 90 projects with a total investment of 2.38 trillion yuan which includes an annual planned investment of 220.09 billion yuan.

In addition, joint efforts will be made to build 81 modern industrial system projects with a total investment of 586.2 billion yuan including an annual planned investment of 80.45 billion yuan; 27 science and technology innovation center projects with a total investment of 67.17 billion yuan including an annual planned investment of 12.03 billion yuan; 21 Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor projects with a total investment of 105.26 billion yuan including an annual planned investment of 11.41 billion yuan; 13 ecological shield projects with a total investment of 34.03 billion yuan including an annual planned investment of 3.7 billion yuan; 6 opening-up projects with a total investment of 22.86 billion yuan including an annual planned investment of 2.14 billion yuan; and 10 public service projects with a total investment of 56.72 billion yuan including an annual planned investment of 9.71 billion yuan.

In 2023, Sichuan and Chongqing will continue to strengthen coordination and collaboration, further improve the promotion and scheduling mechanism of inter-provincial projects, work out timetables, take the initiative to provide services in advance, guarantee project factors, and accelerate the construction of projects, so as to provide strong support for pressing forward with the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
